Update:

After submitting the outside normal processing request on the October 27th i got a notice on the 28th that "We have taken an action on your case" however online case status showed nothing, no updates at all and checked again over multiple days with no change. Filed my wife's EAD renewal paperwork this afternoon and then checked the mail, behold a USCIS letter saying our interview has been scheduled for December 1st 2020 at the Detroit Field Office.

Now i am not going to say that the outside normal processing request was 100% the reason it was finally rescheduled, but i have a sneaking suspicious that it was because the notice date on the letter in October 27th (same day i filed the request).

That's exactly what happened to me: as soon as I filed for EAD and AP renewal, they rescheduled my interview :)

My wife and I had her interview this morning not many people waiting, we were in 15 minutes early and waited maybe 10 minutes to be called. Interview took maybe 15 minutes also.

Officer went over the I-485 to make sure all the info was correct and to make any updates, asked maybe 3-4 basic relationship questions and took a few documents we brought with us mainly anything joint with both our names on it, did not ask to look at or keep any of the pictures we brought, then said that she was approving the AOS. Case status updated to New Card is Being Produced before we made it back home.

Pleasant experience, it was funny seeing our original huge stack of forms and evidence that the officer had then our even larger stack of forms and evidence that had grown since we filed.

They might still be doing the reschedules of the cancelled interviews but if my wife and I's case is anything to go by what is the worst that can happen if you file an outside normal processing query, it may give them the boot they need.

In other news i am not sure what manner of sorcery the USCIS and USPS pulled off with their lightning fast printing and shipping, but my wife received her 2 Year green card in the mail today. 4 business days after the interview 6 days total from interview to delivery.

I actually did Fille that like end of October and today when i called she told me she can see my filling and that nobody has taken any action on it and according to my email they were supposed to by November 25th ans that came and went.. so idk what they doing but it’s kinda sad I feel like it depends on the uscis officer too some may be faster then other

I think they actually approve you green carf before the interview and even produce a card the interview is just a formality and they also want new updated stuff so maybe thats why and also they usually use 1-2 day shipping with usps

We filed the adjustment of status in Feb 2020 through the Detroit office and as of April 2, 2020 were "ready to be scheduled for interview" ... still waiting for that to happen. Thankfully we have the travel parole and work permit though while we wait.  In November our lawyer updated us that USCIS Detroit was starting to reschedule cancelled interviews from this spring, so crossing our fingers it'll be early 2021.

Thank you so much!

Can somebody tell me if this is enough for my interview?

-My appointment letter

-My passport plus my old passport with the K1visa in it (changed due to name change)

-My husbands passport plus his ID

-My medical exemption (it unfortunately past a year since my overseas app so I have to get a new one oh well)

-Both our social security cards

-I-94 arrival departure records

-All the NOA-s since my I-129F until now

-My original birth certificate plus a copy

-My husbands birth certificate plus a copy

-My work permit paper and card

-Original marriage certificate plus a copy

-1040 taxes for 2019 plus IRS printouts

-My husbands 12montgs worth of bank statements (this is bc he is self employed so therefore he doesn’t receive paystubs or W2s, kinda don’t wanna give then any reason to think he can’t support me lol)

-I-864 copies from the original form plus an updated just the adress and bewer date just in case)

-All the documents I have sended with my I-485 at least what I can remember i send lol

-Pictures of us through the years

-Proof of joint bank accounts

-House ownership documents with both our names on it

The catch was when we applied I used my father in law as a joint sponsor but my husband did make enough money it was a safety kinda reason..Don’t ask bc Idk why we did it that way I was scared haha

So for him I am gonna bring everything i sended too just update the dates for the I-864 thats it just in case they ask for that!

Hopefully this is more then enough... By the time our interview date is we will be married for 2 years idk what more sufficient can be then that ahhaha
