Maintaining Canadian Passport?

I'm a naturalized US citizen, with a US passport in process. My Canadian passport is still valid for 4 more years. I'm on the fence about keeping it valid after that. Of course nothing is certain but I don't foresee moving back anytime soon. What are some benefits I should be thinking about when making the decision?

Why not?  And as a dual citizen, you're expected to use the passport for the country of citizenship at POE.  So if you're a citizen of Canada and the US, Canada does not want you to use a US passport at entry.

Canada does not have that requirement.

I didn't bother keeping my Canadian passport. It says my country of birth on my US passport and I've never had any issues. Renewing 5 Canadian passports was just too darn expensive.

I just want to specify that the requirement is waived only for dual American-Canadian, OR if you are not flying/using commercial transportation.  Others will need their Canadian passport, since they can't get an ETA.

In the past, it was not a requirement for any  dual citizens, and I used to only renew my EU passport (since it was valid for 10 years (back then, Canada only had 5-year passports, and cheaper than the Canadian one... )

Ah, okay.  My kids are dual British/US citizens, and they are supposed to use the passport for the country they are entering.

I agree, I am a a dual French and Canadian citizen. Every time I come back to Canada, the Canadian passport is required, and I can't use my French one.

Good to know. I would never fly so never looked into it.

I just saw this off the link you posted.

Exception: If you are an American-Canadian dual citizen with a valid U.S. passport, you don’t need a Canadian passport to fly to Canada. However, you will still need to carry proper identification and meet the basic requirements to enter Canada.
