ok ok bad idea :) but they could add a few more so that some centers dont have the bulk of states while another one has so little.

Any news on the transfer of applications from CSC to VSC? I've heard rumors that VSC may be processing all 129's (regardless of location), or just certain types, as type of application is going to be consolidated by office.

i would not see that as in improvement... just a longer backlog...

CSC is running a bit slow right now for a couple of reasons:

1) Near the end of last year (can't remember exact timing), CSC uncovered a major marriage visa fraud ring, and if I remember correctly there was a staff member involved? Not sure. Stuff slowed down considerably as they cleaned up that mess.

2) CSC has been handling TSC k-1 applications for months now, to shift some of the burden from TSC.

3) compared to VSC, everything looks slow ;)

Keep the faith folks, you will hear something soon! :yes:

I never heard that... was that on the news? Where did you hear about that... would love to read the article...

They are all out surfing.... :P

We waited for what seemed like forever, NOA1 Nov 14, 2005 NOA2 February 16 2006. :angry: But once it got out of the CSC, I haven't had time to catch my breath. :dance:

My interview is in a week and a half!!!! :whistle:

i hate all those sons-a - %#@!$'s at CSC. i hope before i die i get the opportunity to screw up their lives!

:lol:

don't want to mess with anyone in the visa center... hehe... i want to get my man here soon!

Yes, its going to be a long road for the greencard as well, BUT atleast your loved one will be here by your side stressing with you, it wont seem as long of a wait when your both doing it together and it wont seem so horrifying. Thats just my opinion.

If DHS is anything like our agency...

We used to have people process stuff as it came along. No recognition of who you were dealing with, things just got handed out as they came in and processed in that order. If someone got sick and was out for a week, the papers just sat on their desk (in our case, unless someone called with an issue with precedence that required the item to be reassigned) until they got back to work.

What they need is some way of recognizing the cases involve actual humans (if you can forgive the big assumption on my part that they don't), as well as a system for orderly processing that assigns responsibility for slow processing. One of the best things our agency did was come up with targets for how long it took for certain things to be processed, and once those times started increasing, work was re-distributed. Not a "blame" type of system, just more of a recognition of the fact that not all work takes the same amount of time, nor does everyone work at the same speed, but a goal for overall achievement within the office.

In my experience, shuffling things to different processing centers only increases the amount of time to process, unless the center really *does* have people sitting around doing nothing in the office. In this case, centralized processing could *potentially* help.

Maybe I'll go apply for a position at DHS *grin*

I ve been checking the California Service Center processing dates... and till this day they are still processing December 31, 2005... but Vermont is already processing February 19th!!! why is that? me and my fiance have sent in the I-129 in Feb 16.... and i am just wondering if anyone knows about the hold up in California.. and how long is it going to take them to start processing February

I was just wondering the same thing! That site hasn't been updated since 3-20-06 but my main concern is WHY, if they're transferring files to another service center, do they not send them to Vermont who is obviously NOT as backed up as the others???? My petition wasn't even supposed to go to CSC. I sent it to TSC as instructed on the form but then got a receipt notice from CSC. Thank God for that because TSC is still on December 15, 2005 so at least that's some kind of progress. But I'm still at WHY NOT VERMONT??? :crying:

I was just wondering the same thing! That site hasn't been updated since 3-20-06

I'm told that they update the site every two weeks on Tuesday-ish (could be Monday, could be Wednesday). Which means we have a few more days' wait until they update again.

Although it looks like very few from this site have gone through in the past few days (only one on the 30th, the rest are in the 20-22 range), and while there are some from January, it isn't much, and it doesn't look (to me) like too many new approvals are getting posted, while new cases seem to be increasing....

Of course this isn't very scientific, since it relies on users posting and updating their own cases, but it looks like a huge slowdown after the 24th, with only one approval afterward on the 30th.

Well I'll be a son of a gun.. a thousand sincere apologies. We'll have to organize a beatin' for Ewok ;)

RFE should def. be in there.

RFE= Request For Further Evidence

sometimes called

RFI= Request for Further Information

It is a request sent to you when a case worker is actually looking at your file and finds something is missing or unclear. Usually you'll get an email notice that you've had one hit your case, but you have to wait for the paper copy to be mailed to you to find out what it is.

Sometimes it's a user error (forgot to include, sign etc) but sometimes they've lost something you *did* submit.

I'll forward this comment to Ewok immediately to correct that missing info!

Hee hee...I missed this one! Well, if only one person is working (the person who did the only NOA2 on 3/30), maybe we have an answer! (Bad joke, sorry ;-)

On a more serious note, it can't be much worse than where I work now...we've had more people with serious sicknesses and accidents than anywhere else since GWB and his crazy idea of management came to town. Our office used to be one of the happiest in the US, now I think we're the most miserable. Or maybe we just have bad mood swings :unsure:

I read elsewhere that if the online date is still the same, then it hasn't been. Touched means that someone actually touched the form or updated your status online. So even if the status is the same, but online your status date has changed, officially you've been touched.

eeeeck. Someone please correct if I'm wrong.
