Everything has been cattywampus and will remain so, until every consulate gets ramped back up in full.  Frustrating, but give it time.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Does anyone know if US Embassy personnel were evacuated from Russia and that's why they aren't processing anything right now?

I spoke to a consular agent in the end of August,  he was doing some notarizing for us, so he told me : they ( the embassy) started to bring their personnel back to Russia. So apparently lots of their people were brought back to the states.

I got enthusiastic about that too but given the fact they are still not processing family cases and even not scheduling the interview for October  I don’t think it makes any difference for now

This embassy is extremely slow. They even post the copy paste updated information on the site with huge delay. DV winners write that just one CO is interviewing all of them so these personnel people must be still on their way to Moscow🤷‍♀️.

I'm on the US citizen Moscow Embassy mailing list, so I get emails from the Embassy. This was something that went out in an email about Covid to US citizens from today (Sept 24th):

Quote

Event:  As COVID-19 case numbers continue to rapidly increase in Moscow and Russia, this alert recommends that U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents traveling to or residing in Russia continue to exercise caution to limit exposure to COVID-19.

The U.S. Embassy in Moscow and U.S. Consulate General in Yekaterinburg continue to operate with only limited staff.  U.S. government employees in Russia are restricted in their travel and activities in light of the continued high infection rates in the country.  Limited services for U.S. citizens are available.  Visa services remain suspended except for emergency or mission-critical services.  The U.S. Consulate General in Vladivostok has temporarily suspended operations.

This is really depressing because the cases have really started rising. Although if they are conducting interviews for DV winners, they are capable of doing it for other visa types.

Guys, do you think it's a good idea to transfer the case to Kazakhstan? They are doing at least something there, also started rescheduling visas for spouses, they will definitely open K1s before Moscow will. Maybe it will make sence, besides, the line won't be as bad as the line in Moscow when it reopens.

You can try but from @MARIACom's answer it sounds like they are not really accepting transfers from Russia. :( Maybe try other Embassies?

Yeah, i know that they are doing the backlog right now, but they probably don't have that many applicants there, so it's not huge. If we wait for a bit, there might be a chance
Kazakhstan seems like the best option here, tbh. Ukraine is closed for Russia still, there is a big line i assume, Georgia is also closed. Other countries that are nearby are not processing K1s yet, and Kazakhstan looks like they will start soon.

I‘ve read today that Ukraine won’t prolong the ban for foreigners.

Hello,

My husband and I have been apart for a very long time and our case right now is at NVC, I cant travel to Russia to see him because of Covid restrictions on the visa's. He's a Ukrainian citizen so we're considering transferring our case to Kiev. Do you think it's a good idea to do that since i'll be able to fly there to be with him? Or should we wait for our interview in Moscow? Moscow doesn't seem like it's doing any cr1/iri1 interviews but I've had friends from Ukraine who's husbands had a mission critical spouse interview and immigrated to USA this September. We have no idea what to do and are desperate for help!

They just started doing CR-1/IR-1 interviews. Someone here on VJ got an interview for October 12th, with others seeing movement and receiving emails regarding their case. I would say be a little more patient.

whens your PD date?
