Where did you / will you honeymoon??

The beach is very important to me, so the hotter the better in my eyes (need something by the water to relax..)

However, he burns easy and get uncomfortable in the scorching heat and is dying to go back to Europe (I've never been)

and would love to go to Paris (he's such the little romantic, gotta love him)!

I think it's a bit cliche but I'm sure it'd be the experience of a lifetime..

He says we can always go to a beach.. be it hawaii, jamaica, punta cana etc, ... you don't always go to paris..

Why don't you guys go to Paris and the south of France? (Depending on when you're going....) There are a lot of amazing beaches/vacationy get-aways in Europe too (and places like Croatia or Greece would be fabulous). I think there is a compromise available here.

PS I don't get why you can't go to Paris all the time but beach vacations are an "any time" thing. AFAIK, beach vacations can be pricey too!

Ya, I was thinking of that..

We could go to paris for a couple of days, then fly to somewhere more southern europe.. for a couple days..

=) thanks!

yes, we had a honeymoon in the good ole USA -- due to time off, lack of finance, and lack of AP, we couldn't do anything too fancy-schmancy or out of country, but our cabin suite overlooking the lake was wonderful. :)

probably will have our initial honeymoon in the US (hawaii maybe) after our courthouse wedding. if we don't do that,

once we have the big bash after he has his green card i would like us to go to brazil.

paris you can do anytime too. i don't get that reasoning. depends on what you want out of your honeymoon. what cultures you prefer, food, weather, etc. do you want to lie on the beach, drink frosty drinks, have tropical food, and relax? or do you want to go, go go in paris, eat french food, and be in a concrete environment? totally different lifestyles. but both can be awesome! :)

A couple of friends are getting married in the UK next year, so we're probably going to make a delayed honeymoon trip out of it then. Still, I am not a fan of beaches. Especially when there are perfectly good mountains around that don't have jellyfish and kraken to eat you.

I'd love to go over to the UK too, have family in Holland but not interested in going there. Otherwise, mountains or beach, already did the bike trip to both though. Looking like just a quick visit to Eureka Springs instead :crying:

Go to the Gold Coast in Australia during the winter. Best of both worlds! Nice sandy beaches AND cool weather :D *without it being bitterly cold or scorching hot!*

Thats where we had our honeymoon :D *course, doesn't really have to be the Gold Coast since we have a buttload of beaches*

and hey, Australia is kinda europe-y :P we are their convicts afterall XD

The Beginning

September 29th, 1999 - 'hooked' up with Dave after chatting with him for about a year online.

October 23rd, 2004 - September 29th, 5 years to the day, he proposed to me =D

July 23rd, 2005 - Dave comes over for the wedding on July 27th at the beach :)

Sometime in December, he sends off I-130 to Texas and promptly leaves me in the dark like a mushroom x.X...

The Saga Continues *dumdeduuummm*

August - phone NVC. intriguing :\ Phoned again, ah hah! the truth... no record of us >< losers... Go and visit Dave for 3 months...

End of January, we sent the petition back in again. 2 weeks later, we actually get a number in our hot little hands.

April 5th - NOA2 approved!

April sometime, received and sent back Choice of Agent

May 18th - Received IV Bill

May 28th - Sent IV Bill MO back

June 11th - DS-230 generated

July 12th - Received and sent back DS-230 packet

July 19th - NVC Sent Husband checklist of AoS. They forgot to fill in N/A fills with.... N/A x.X

July 23rd - DS-230 entered

July 26th - NVC received checklist regarding financial suppliment (ie, got a talking to on the phone :P)

August 1st - sent financial papers back

August 3rd - (Automatic msg) Financial records lacking! ARGH!~

August 7th - Received actual fixed paperwork - 'processing'

August 17th - NVC COMPLETED CASE!~

September 10th - Received packet 3

September 17th - Medical in Brisbane

November 14th - Interview VISA GRANTED

December 8th - Landed in USA

December 24th - GreenCard Arrives

I want to lie on the beach and drink "frosty drinks" =)

He wants to be in the City of love and be "in a concrete environment" =)

Separate honeymoons?

there are perfectly good mountains around that don't have jellyfish and kraken to eat you.

  Yes, but mountains have mountain lions and Bigfoot :P

We stayed at a really nice B & B in the sleepy little town of Arroyo Grande near San Luis Obispo. Pismo Beach is nearby, and we had some wonderful clam chowder at a little restaurant there. Also got to see flocks of Monarch Butterflies in a Eucalyptus grove by the beach. We took a short drive to Avila Beach and ate at a seafood restaurant on the end of a pier that you drive out onto. Saw some sea lions up close as we left that had climbed onto the pier docks. Also went to Hearst Castle, and then took a drive across the Central Valley and up to Bishop to see my second groomsman and his wife, since she didn't make it to the wedding. On the way home, we stopped at Red Rock Canyon in the Mojave Desert.
