Yes just wait and keep emailing them who knows maybe they will respond . As of now they are not doing interviews for k1 :( I wished they were more informative about all this .

Darn!  I joined the lawsuit so I was kind of hoping that I was seeing some movement from that.  Guess not.  We will keep waiting.  Thanks again!

I’m in  the same situation and my fiancé is from Casablanca . From what I heard , you pay it at the Embassy but then again it says on the website you showed that in order to set up an appointment you have to pay first . It’s so confusing .
We are waiting for the next email of instructions on how to set up an appointment and all documentation needed etc .Also if you do pay fee just know it has an expiration date of one year. As long as u set up an appointment within that year you should be good . If you have questions or anything let me know I’m also very confused about all this .

So it's best to wait for further instructions?  Thank you

Maybe this will help:

  • Once you get a case number, you can fill out the DS 160 online. Print the confirmation page once completed. Make a copy for your file and bring the other to the interview.
  • You cannot schedule Doctor's appointment till you receive notice from embassy
  • It's taking about 3 months of waiting to be able to schedule any appointments.
  • Do not do the medical too soon as the visa validity is based on the medical date. Approx. 6 months from date of that medical is the expiration of the visa. Your mileage may vary so check your visa once you received and make plans accordingly.
  • You complete 2 criminal reports (one of which expires in 90 days) obtain a Fiche Anthropometrique and a Casier Judiciaire from the Central Police station at their place of residence.
  •  The Embassy requires all documents to have an English translation along with the original Arabic

When you have your case number, enter it here https://ss.state.g...ker/status.aspx and it will tell you one of three things, at NVC, In Transit, or Ready. Once your case shows "Ready" then you email the consulate and request an interview. Include your name, fiancés name, case number and that you're looking to schedule a K1 Fiancé Visa interview. I heard they'll email you back within 2 weeks or so, but some have heard back the same day that they sent the email.

When they email you back, they'll tell you when your appointment is. Attached will be packet 3. Includes a list of doctors to choose from for the medical, your rights and your appointment letter. At that point - just get your papers together. Usually your fiancé gets the police records in a week. Court records same day. Celabecy letter same day. And birth cert in the same day. Once you have them, then dropped them off to be translated. Picked them up in a week. Already you're at 2 weeks for gathering the fiancés paperwork. On top of that make sure your fiancé sends you their documents (I-134, proof of relationship, taxes, pay stubs, letter from employer, updated letter of intent).

This is not a “routine” K1, this is a K1 with an NIE exception to the various travel bans etc.
However, as morocco is not subject to a ban not sure if the NIE just means that they are giving her an “emergency” interview. If it is set up for her to pay fees and no other k1s are seeing this, does this not mean that she is in fact being treated as an exception?

If that is the case, and it was decided I'm eligible for some kind of exception, should I expect to hear from … someone, or is this something I need to chase down?

Now that particular question is very embassy dependent. But if I were you I’d contact them rather than waiting.

I couldn't find any information from past messages saying he is NIE as Jennifer is the USC1

and at this point the October CR1 visa people i talked to on whatsapp haven't been able to schedule dr appointments till December

and still the fee from what i can find out is paid at embassy day of interview

A few K1's have been approved in Casa but these are people who were in AP since March or before and had interviews before covid issues

OP stated parent of USC child, this falls under NIE. (She may understand she qualifies for an exception without knowing what the abbreviation stands for!) see her second post/third post in the thread.

The logistics are a separate matter. I know that some embassies are directing the panel doctors to do medicals for urgent cases more, well, urgently, no idea if Casa is one of those.

Ours has the status: No Status. Is this normal? We had our petition approved in late October of 2019 and it was sent by the NVC to the US Embassy in Casablanca. Our case is a bit complicated though and we have been emailing since July. So far, they stopped responding to us and are kind of rude, short with us on the phone. My fiancé was instructed by one of the agents to go ahead and pay the fee, so the fee has already been paid. We are getting frustrated with the lack of communication from these folks over there. I even emailed the Inspector General because I'm not getting a response from them. 😕

This is a straightforward process. If the embassy is not open, as most are closed but some are beginning to return, then there is nothing that you can say, do or be frustrated about. Stay connected with your embassy's website for further details.

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process?

    • "the man with the gold makes the rules"
    • it will take as long as it will take
    • no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
    • Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
    • Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience - yours and theirs are not the same
    • They only promised you a YES or NO answer. Never an exact time that their decision would be completed
    • Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

Good luck on your journey

BTW, can you go in and complete your profile so we see the country in which you will have your interview from so that we can opine based on what we know about that embassy, otherwise we will not be able to give "all of the answer". Just saying.

TEACHING MOMENT

Here's some tricks to use when answering and wanting to quote someone.

First, when you use the quote button, go into a LONG posts that you are quoting and if there isn't a need to have the entire post, just delete a small portion of it, but leaving enough of the original post so we can understand what you are replying to.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1krDA5e93LXA3JbzBl8Zo-pvBjpNlLJam/view?usp=sharing

Second, you can use the "@" sign in a blank reply box then begin typing the person's nick to bring up a list with their name and select their name. If it is done right, you should see a blue box around their nick like this @Greenbaum. When you use the @ sign you would use it in a blank reply and not a "+" reply.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MDRnqzVsqYuInL1iSIyuxaMOj52yDAxb/view?usp=sharing

Third is just to use the "heart" icon and select "thanks". Don't really need to say thanks in a quote. (using your example, you were making a comment and a thank you so the way you presented yourself is fine.

That website is for completing the steps to getting an interview at the embassy.  It is not for communications with the embassy - that is handled via email.  You should have received a definitive answer to your question - whether yes or no - by email.

You can send a request to the Embassy from your personal account. And they will respond you back to your email box.

So basically, you can communicate with the Embassy by means of your personal account 😉
