Do they really want to see the whole divorce decree with the I 129F, or will the front and back pages (the relevent part) do? I've got two divorce decrees- is it really necessary to bulk up the package with property settlement info?

No, they just want copies of the divorce decree - not the settlement. Is your divorce decree signed? That is my problem right now lol. The certified copies don't have any siggies from us.

Go to the court house where you got divorced if possible and ask for a certified copy with offical stamp. Mine cost about 15-20.00 Get more than one . In the future it may come in handy

Divorce decrees vary with the jurisdiction. Go here and see the information for Clark County, NV.

in NH certified copy can be received at the court where divorce was issued..the divorce decrees may look different but should just stating the essentials, the parties names, date divorce final, reason for divorce, etc...and then just ask the court for a certified copy they will stamp it to indicate that it is a true attested copy, they will charge a small fee maybe 15 to 20......that should be all

Not everyone's experience is the same across the board. Where this might have been your experience it may not have been for another.

I sent only the four page divorce decree. No RFE was received. I also sent another certified copy with my husband (then fiancé) for his interview. No problems, he was approved.

My certified divorce decree was only two pages (and totally separate from the actual property settlement). I received no RFEs and have had no problems either.

Your mileage may vary.

im sure if you send the entire package there are no ?s however they do request the divorce decree, not sure why they need the parenting plan w/visitation agreements..lol..however im sure spoken from ppl that have gotten an RFE send it all and theres no ?s...guess i just take the request literally, so I was only planning myself in sending my divorce decree not the uniform suport order, parenting plan...etc.....perhaps i will send it all as well...

I would recommend to send all pages just to cover your bases and avoid a 'possible' RFE. I have two divorces also (from the same idiot...i know, i know) and I sent all pages of both. I will also be doing the same for the consulate interview. It's better to be overprepared than under.

The quantity of paper isn't the issue. My certified decrees were each one page. They just want the correct document. A copy of the whole thing that is not certified is of no use. A certified copy of the full decree and settlement would be extremely expensive to have Notarially translated in China.

So, get the correct document, regardless of whether it is "the whole thing".

Just as a rule of thumb, most people don't have "certified divorce decree" copies on hand after a divorce. Generally they request them separately, some time after the divorce is recorded. If you haven't done that, there is good reason to believe you do not yet have the correct document.

In Michigan, the divorce settlement IS the decree, and the parties are provided with a "true copy" (signed by clerk)... is this the same as being certified?
