Expedite approved but case still "at NVC"

Hi,

We got DQ'ed at the beginning of July, and recently requested our case to be expedited due to medical reasons. The expedite was approved early last week, but the CEAC case tracker still says our case is "at NVC", rather than in transit or at the embassy. While the email says that it can take up to two weeks to send the file to the embassy, my understanding was that it is generally done much quicker. Would anyone be able to share their timeline after approval of an expedite request? Here's ours:

- 26 Aug: Sent expedite request

- 2 Sep: Received acknowledgement email

- 15 Sep: Expedite request approved

- 15 Sep: Received email that our immigration appointment was cancelled (a common bug with approved expedite requests, apparently)

- 16 Sep: Received email that "The NVC updated the status of your immigrant visa application", even though there seems to be no status change since our case is still "at NVC"

And no news since then. Thanks for your help!

"Done much quicker"?  I have seen expedites take several weeks or more.   Patience is the key.

We're on nearly identical timelines!!

- 1 Jul: DQ

- 27 Aug: Sent expedite request

- 9 Sep: Received acknowledgement email

- 15 Sep: Expedite request approved

- 17 Sep: Received email that immigration appointment was cancelled

- 18 Sep: Status changed from "At NVC" to "In Transit"
- 21 Sep: Status changed from "In Transit" to "Ready"

Hopefully this means yours is close behind!

Thanks, that's good to know! I thought the time frame was usually 2-3 days, which is why I asked in the first place. I hope we'll get an update soon as well!

Out of curiosity - did you also get an email titled "Notice regarding your Immigrant Visa Case"? We received one (copied below), which doesn't make much sense, since the status of our application doesn't seem to have changed.

Thanks! Maybe it's because there was an unread message on the CEAC portal about the cancelled appointment. Who knows.

Fair enough - thanks for your reply!

I heard that it sometimes takes a while for cases to progress from "in transit" to "ready" (although that generally doesn't seem to be the case for the London embassy), but I am surprised at how long it is taking for the case to move from "at NVC" to "in transit", considering that our case was straightforward from start to finish (no RFEs, no sponsors, etc.). Everyone else on the UK forum seems to only wait one or two days before their case is sent through, which is why I am getting a bit curious/impatient.
