For the I-864 the sponsor, or the co-sponsor have to make 125% of the Department of Health and Human Services Poverty Guidelines, for the number of people already in the household plus you the immigrant. Here is the I-864P which will tell you how much salary is needed. If in your father-in-law's 'household' there is only him and say his wife...then you're OK on $22K income. Otherwise...you may need further co-sponsoring.

Good luck!

It was My hubby who earned over $22K for last year's income. But just to be on the safe side and to avoid further RFE's my father-in-law who i know made in excess of $300K income for last year agreed to be co-sponsor.

Hi,

It seems like a lot of people get an RFE for the tax forms... I have a question about this subject too. Since I do my taxes on line, would it be OK if I send a print of the ones I filed online, or do they want something else?

I am gathering the info for the AOS packet and this tax thing has been a concern... Anybody has gone thru this part with the online taxes?

Thanks so much!
