k1 visa evidence

Hey!

 

So my fiance and I originally met in 2010. I went to Ecuador in 2010, 2011 and 2012. We have spoken on fb messenger and whatsapp every year since then. I am back here now because of the  2 year rule. In gathering evidence, is it important to show our conversations throughout the last 7 or so years and if so, how do you all think is best. All of our conversations are in spanish and I have gone through them all and screenshotted the ones where we speak about marriage and love and our future together...it is ALOT, so do I just print out all those screenshots? We also have my boarding passes, airbnb stay, and photos of me with members of his family. I have also had conversations with his mother on fb messenger. I guess my question is are conversations necessary to include? How did you all print yours out? What about photos that we exchanged to eachother?

What rule is that?   The only requirement is that you have to have met in-person once within 2 years before submitting the I-129f.

Not required. Focus on what is required, not what you think is required. 
 

Demonstrate that you have met at least once in the last two years. That’s all that is needed for that part of the petition. Your passport stamps, boarding passes, ATM transactions, receipts from your current trip are what is needed. USCIS is not interested in 7 years of flirtatious messaging.

Update:   I now see recently visited him.......great.  You need only the evidence of this meeting.

Can you please clarify if you have met with the last 2 years because based on your dates it looks like you haven't met wince 2012 which would make you ineligible to file for k1 at this time. 

 

If you have met within the last 2 years... no, conversations are not important. What is important is "face to face" time- so passport stamps, hotel receipts, photos together preferably with family and friends, etc. Conversations hold very little weight- you or he could be having the same "I love you" conversations with other girls/guys- see what I mean?

Have you considered the spousal visa instead? K1 has many disadvantages.

They might be referring to the rule where you have to go back to your home country for two years before seeking any other immigration benefits in the US with certain student visas (J-1, I believe).

The OP is the petitioner.......The beneficiary was never in the US as far I know.
