Great letter! Are you going to personalize it and how it has impacted you and your spouse?

Yeah, it's a three page letter with lots of data/charts explaining the issues at the Consulate and then some information on our personal situation and we have been impacted by the mismanagement.

Hi all, just a thought. Would it be useful to write to the new Ambassador to Canada (who sits in Ottawa) as well? She is new to the role too. Not sure what sort of influence she might have but do you think it is worth a shot?

I think if we don’t see any letters for the remainder of November tomorrow then it might be only mid November for December dates 😟

That's so unfortunate given they have 3 open slots to schedule in spousal interviews for the remainder of November! You would think they would want to fill these spots to address the huge backlog! Infuriating! 😠

For all you folks writing to government officials in Canada, who are you writing to? Can I get their emails? I'm the petitioner (USC) so I'm not too familiar with who to write to in Canada. In the past, I've written to my representative in California when my petition was stuck at USCIS for longer than normal wait times, but that was absolutely useless and such a waste of my time. All I received was that standard automated message (removed) from them as well. After that experience, I lost faith in even using these departments for any type of help. I don't know how much value writing to these government officials/departments is going to bring. Personally, I think pumping this issue publicly on social media is far more impactful.

I think more like 2 - the 18 and 25 since I am thinking 23 and 30th would go to k-1

Why would it go to K1? K1 received the 16th (since 11th was a holiday), so spousals would get the 18th and then every Monday after that (23rd and 30th). K1s would go back to track scheduled every Wednesday. To be honest, I'm annoyed that they bumped down spousals to 1x a week LOL. We should have stayed at 2x a week (or more). This is all just speculation, I have no idea what they are actually thinking.

Because if we get the 18th then the schedule switches around and now spousal is on Wednesday’s so that everybody gets a day. This is just me speculating as well. Since they made up for the 11th by scheduling k-1 on the 16th.

Oh I am so annoyed. With everything lol

Well I don't read French, but at least they're looking to hire some help? *sarcasm*

I'm sure you may have Googled it, but since I'm from Montreal and speak French, this is what's written:

If you want to know more about the relation between the US and Canada, and have the will and the necessary competencies, visit LINK to apply by November 6, 2020, at the latest.

At least it's a step moving forward...

Thanks, I actually didn't google it, so that's helpful! Indeed it is a step forward, even if just a small one.

It’s a student internship. Not sure how much of an impact that would have on speeding things up at the consulate.

I also saw that the consul general is hiring for a personal chef. Would be great to see some more movement sooner rather than later..

Good day to you!  Hope everyone reading had a good weekend!

@shammykay, are you able to make a table that compares the UK rates to CAN rates so we can post to the consulates social media and to send via email?  Something compact like the one I posted last week?

If anyone is afraid to use their own social media to message the consulate, make a new one that isn’t identifiable.  This week is the week we should inundate them with messages if we don’t see movement.  I know people are frustrated.  This isn’t what we had in mind when choosing to move to be with our spouses.

I worked in my database this weekend. I have Jan 2019 - Sept 2020 data that has all consulates, all IMM visa types with K1/2/3 data layered in for the same time period.

This is an output measure ( visas approved ), not interviews. But I can pull Montreal IR1 vs K1 and London vs Montreal IR1 easily. Will put something together tonight.

I seem to remember a rumour that in summer 2019 consulate personnel in Montreal were temporarily reassigned to MX to deal with issue there. That could be a conjecture or rumour however.
