I called NVC yesterday and was told the same old that they have not received any update from Montreal U.S. Consulate for scheduling interviews for spouses of U.S. citizens yet. :(

I’m going to work on something to send to them via multiple channels and will definitely up my barrage by mid week next week. The more the merrier. I’ll post here first, as we have been discussing a unified messaged.

Tomorrow is Friday -  5 business days of absolutely NOTHING after they announced they would be scheduling new interviews.   Ludicrous.

No ....hang in there. I have a good feeling that in the coming week they might send out interview letters. I think you are probably among the next ones on the list. Good luck...I hope you receive the IL very soon :)

I would take what NVC says with a grain of salt. They aren’t helpful and the information relayed changes per agent. LOL

I’m on board to post and get loud on social media about this as well. I’ve already been posting on their social media sites every few days! We have to keep making noise on prioritizing spouses. Fiances are super loud on social media, about time we do the same.

Totally agree with this. We need to. I still don't get it since when fiance status got prioritized over spousal. It's ridiculous..

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but before any pandemic interruptions it was a long standing practice of the consulate to send out all ILs one day a month for the following month (and very rarely over two days the IL were sent out). Typically around the middle of the month, they would send out a batch of letters all on the same day for interviews in the next month.

So it was usually something like:

Jan 15th all applicants with a Feb interview got their letter

Feb 15th all applicants with a March interview got their letter

March 15th all applicants with an April interview got their letter

This is a generalization, it was not always the 15th (usually somewhere between the 12th - 18th). It seems to me that they are trying to return to that previous practice now that most of the pandemic cancellations are rescheduled. So I probably would count on a mid-November (maybe Monday the 16th) flurry of IL coming in, and probably nothing until then.

I am not trying to be pessimistic, but I also want those who haven't been on the group for quite as long to understand how it worked before pre-pandemic.

As far as we know there have been 0 interviews scheduled for the last half of November. Thats the problem not the 1 day scheduling.

Yeah, it's hard to know if our group just didn't happen to get any dates for later in the month (kind of weird) if they are saving those dates for other cancellations (maybe?) or what.

Before the pandemic, I actually much preferred the one day IL notice. You only had to wait around anxiously for a few days in the middle of the month and you knew very quickly as soon as people starting posting here that they received a letter whether you were in for the next month or not. It's a lot action for just one day, but at least it was a system that we knew about and could plan for. Right now it's so random and unpredictable, you are on edge every day.

I agree that this is the usual and it’s totally understandable. Although usually they would do it for a full month. Right now they schedule only for the first 2 weeks of November, they are missing 2 other weeks at the end of November.

Yeah who knows. They may be keeping the 2 last weeks for expedites and other types of visas. But how will they ever get through the backlog...there is only 2 interview days right now for all of November.

I hope we will hear about interviews soon for November. We were already hoping to be back home in June. That didn’t work. So now we are hoping to be back home for Christmas. It’s just so long and giving us 2 days for November is not enough. We should have at least 6.5 days. Every Monday and at least the morning of every Wednesday. Like this they would have the afternoon for K1s. I want to see them work faster.

If we hear don’t hear anything next week, it’s safe to assume that we’ll need to wait Mid-Nov for the next batch of interview letters. They might just be trying to get back to their traditional scheduling ways. It’s just a shame that they would let 2 weeks go by completely empty when they could have scheduled in more spousal interviews.

There are definitely enough people on various Facebook pages and here on VJ that we will always have someone from this group receive an interview on the specific days.  So far they’ve only  scheduled Nov 2nd and 9th for spouses (4th and 16th for K1), with very few  interview letters received.  If they can accommodate the reschedules as they did, then they should move forward at that same pace, which they are not doing.  It’s already October 23rd, believe it or not, and that’s it for November!?  Why would they say last week they were scheduling new interviews and then do nothing? If this is the pace they’re working at, then things are seriously broken at the consulate.
