I don't really understand what these visa interview dates are telling us. . .

Are they only scheduling spousal visa interviews once per week (Mondays) and scheduling K1 visa interviews once a week on Wednesday? Or do we just have too small of a sampling of cases to see interviews on other dates?

Did Montreal only provide NVC with two weeks worth of dates, and thats why we only saw dates for the first and second Monday of November? Or again, is our sample size too small to see more (surely there can't be that many January 6th DQ dates)? If they only opened up half the month, would we expect a second round of ILs from NVC later in the month? Looking at the spreadsheet data, it looks like ILs have been pretty consistently since on a single day with a spattering coming the day after - so this would be a change to the standard process at NVC

I'm tired, and I'm feeling lost in this process - like many of us have at one time or another.

ILs were sent over 2 days per month for the whole following month, right? (That was for spouse only) They have to do K1 too

I agree that this is all way too confusing. I thought I would have a clear answer on their process for new interviews this month, but that's not the case so far. If they only used 1x a week for spouses and 1x a week for K1s, how is that helping them get through their backlog? I was hoping for them to do at least 2x a week for spouses like they have done in the past. Also, the number of interview dates scheduled for VJ members was relatively low as well compared to pre-covid times. I would have expected at least 10-15 people to get an interview in November (pre-covid it was about 20-30 people on our VJ spreadsheet). It could be that our sample size is too low to tell, but I haven't seen any update on FB either.

Things worth knowing:

The consulate doesn't care if you have the IL in-hand when you come; they check your name against a list on a clipboard based on your passport.

Yes, AOS & taxes were requested even though updated ones had been uploaded.

Interview questions included border/visa history, USC employment, and meeting circumstances between USC & CAN.

So we need to fill out of a new updated aos
what do you need meeting circumstances?

If you are referring to the rescheduled interviews that occurred in September 2020, those were a different process because the reschedules came direct from Montreal since the cases were already sitting with them.  This new batch, sent yesterday/today were a return to "normal" where Montreal provides open dates to NVC and NVC fills them, sends out Interview Letters and moves the case to Montreal.

I'm hesitant to compare the rescheduling process to what we'd expect from NVC with new cases, as they have historically done batch processing.

They scheduled 23 interviews in September for VJ members. If they could do that then, why not do that moving forward? That would help substantially. It’s super great they scheduled 5-6 new interviews so far  -  now we wait, again - after the initial hopefulness -  to see what will happen.....

Yes! I was trying to not use Sept in my analysis since those were scheduled weekly by Montreal and not NVC, but I agree! If they enough interview slots to fill 23 VJ members on our spreadsheet, then why not now! 5-6 is super low...maybe we'll here more this week or next week. I might call NVC as well to get an update on their process now that Montreal is communicating with them. If someone already has been in touch with them, kindly let us know what they heard!
