I'm going to assume they're in the process of figuring out how many interviews they can hold while still having enough man power to issue visas within a reasonable timeframe and review documents that are sent in after the fact (like medicals). There could also be a delay in the NVC scheduling interviews once they receive the number from Montreal. We know that ILs generally go out in the 3rd week of the month but that doesn't tell us when Montreal provides dates to the NVC

I am not a lawyer and nothing I say is or should be taken as legal advice.

I was recently DQ'ed (Mid-September 2020), but it's seriously aggravating to see how long people have been waiting for a Consulate that seems extremely reluctant to do its job, especially given the strain of the border closure and separation on families during this most difficult time. The fact that they only do IV interviews in Montreal is also pretty staggering because of the sheer volume of cases that one of the US's closest neighbor's would generate. They really should be sending the IV staff to the other consulates so they can knock this backlog down, otherwise people will be perpetually waiting 10 months for a gosh-darn 15 minute interview after an already 1-2 year process of waiting for their I-130s to be approved. What the hell are they doing with our fees? Paying for new furniture? Spa weekends? Get mad, this is unacceptable.

It's true! I was thinking of looking into sueing them for all the unnecessary hell they're putting people through. Like I'm pregnant and I do not need a years wait for my husbands interview on top of everything and being separated

Yes she spent our fee money to get a haircut ;) . Jokes aside... lets start a petition again if they don't resume NVC cases by next week. I am losing my patience with Montreal. It used to be one my bucket-list places to visit, now I am getting more and more annoyed by the entire city...

I am honestly willing to join a lawsuit at this point hahaha like I dont even care. Montreal is the worst ever. Like do they forget they're doing this service to US Citizens?!?! I guess not. Horrible, so horribly treated.

I mean, our fee money probably is going towards her salary, so you're not too far off the mark. xD

Hello! Currently sitting in YUL waiting for my flight down to the US!!!

Going through customs was easy. The first officer was grumpy/hostile as per usual, the second one who actually processed my visa was lovely. That part took maybe 3min! Very quick and painless. I didn’t get my “welcome to the United States” but he did say “welcome, take care and enjoy!” 😋 Things are starting to feel real!!

To all those still waiting, I know it’s so hard and I’ve definitely had my share of feeling like it’d never end, like they were stealing years of our life, and feeling so down and discouraged... honestly right now I remember it happened but I can’t feel it at all. It all got washed away once we crossed the finish line at the interview. Hang in there, I’m rooting for all of you! Focus on your spouse! I used to tell myself “this could be so much worse, we could have never met”. Keep your head up 🤗

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!
