I really hope they start scheduling interviews soon. Noone has heard in over a month if feel. And March April interviews have already been done, so not sure what they are waiting on now to get started with the remaining cases

My wife's case got expedited because she is in the medical field but they gave her such a short window to interview. They even told her that because her case was expedited even if she tried to re-schedule her interview it would be  way later. She had to do everything in a very short time so her medical was late. Now here we are. Medical has been sitting at the consulate for 2 weeks and nothing. She has to to complete a board exam soon in the US or her career will be bust. They have her passport so she cannot do a thing. So the expedite really didn't do anything. They give you hope but take it away anyway.

Hi! If this is not too much to ask, would you mind telling me more about this? NVC asked me for an employment offer before forwarding anything to the consulate (I’m also in the medical field), did they ask your wife the same thing? You don’t have to respond if you don’t want to of course.

We just told them that she has completed medical school and she cannot get residency unless she is allowed to work in the US. Since we have been in this process since Jan 2019 she could not apply for a work visa at the same time (that's what we were told). Well the approved the expedite but because of COVID she missed this years cycle anyway. But now we are about to apply for 2021 cycle and we are in this mess.

"We apologize for the confusion in your wife's case. We have received the documents and the case is being reviewed by an officer. There is a delay in processing due to a substantial backlog including for cases missional critical and those who have submitted all the documents however we are working as quickly as possible to review cases."

Not sure if it's just me but Consulate emails only seem to be answered on Tuesdays and Thursday's.

I plan to get really loud next week if we don't hear anything from the Consulate. I have an email ready to send and social posts lined up. If anyone else has other ideas of how to get loud and our message in front of the Consulate, let me know! I'm ready to do whatever it takes to push them. They are done with rescheduling cancelled interviews, so I don't understand what the hold up is. Either way, if we don't hear from them next week, I won't be staying quiet any longer. 😀

With the  lack of transparency and communication and the fact that couples in Australia, New Zealand and the UK are getting interviews within 3-5 months - it’s a good thing to inquire about the lack of movement!    They are all set up and now and have been doing this for weeks. Let’s go! Get us all to our new homes!

I am a citizen of both the UK and Australia and I am kicking myself SO HARD for not switching consulates when I found out that Montreal had a 5 month backlog. I figured it wasn't that bad of a wait and of course no one saw covid coming. Hindsight is 20/20 🙄
