Hey guys, Question for anyone who already has their Visa. Is the A# on our Visa the same thing as the Registration Number? Because I read the FAQ and it says your A Number should start with an A but mine doesn't. Mine is 8 numerical digits. I'm about to pay the immigration fee and I just want to make sure I put in the right thing for the A Number.

from what I gathered during my dq phase people were getting qualified with less then optimal paperwork due to covid. Chances are if other people in the past have had to do it and you didn't during covid then you probably will need to still. I'm curious for rafale. Shouldn't he have had to file anyways to prove that he wasn't making too much? I thought American citizens had to file anyways even if they weren't working in the USA

I was DQ before covid hit with those documents. And no, you do not have to file taxes on $0.00. Just explain why you didn't file and that's enough for them.

It doesn't but it needs to be 9 digits.  If it's not add a 0 to the beginning.

Guys I am so sad right now- my husband is on his way to Montreal for his interview tomorrow and his medical results are not back yet. He went 9/18 on the advice of  Dr Zatzman's office, saying that would be plenty of time for the results to be back. Well, they are not, and they said they likely will not have them today. So he's going in knowing that he will be put on AP until the results are in.

Has anybody dealt with a delayed medical, and how long did it hold things up once the results were submitted? I found stuff from years ago but nothing recently when I searched the forums. Our 2-year anniversary was yesterday and I just can't handle much longer of a delay. :(

Hold on hope, the good news is the AP backlog should be significantly shorter because of the time they spent clearing it before starting rescheduled interviews.

I think @Japples is in a similar boat, since they couldn't do their medical until a day (or two?) before the appointment.  They might be your best resource to track progress.

Still waiting. My wife's interview was last Wednesday. Dr. said medical results were sent on Thursday. I sent emails to verify if they have the results yet no reply other than canned messages not related to my question. They don't confirm if they have received the results because the agents don't check the files until they feel like it. At the interview it's right in front of them so they do the check in minutes. No idea what their process is for re-checking case files. Pretty ridiculous that a 2 min check takes them a month.

Thank you so much. It's interesting - As a test I put the 8 digits, and the system automatically adds a zero in front just like you said to do. So thank you for that!

One more question. It's about the Case number slot on the digital form for the immigration fee. I noticed the case number in my Visa added an extra two digits at the end compared to the case number on all my other documents. For example, like the one on my interview appointment confirmation email. And the system doesn't accept the last of the extra added digits. Should I just put in the same Case Number I've been using this whole time? Cause the one on my visa doesn't fit.

So basically the Case Number in my passport on my visa is MTL plus 12 digits, after googling I believe it should only be 9 or 10 digits. Anyone else have this problem while trying to complete the Imigrant visa fee form to pay online?

They do have to file but if you are not working in the US you don't have a corresponding W2. Based on advice I had seen somewhere on VJ we wrote a statement explaining his work situation and why his W2 only covered a partial years earnings. He signed this and we uploaded during NVC phase. They approved our documents without issue.

So possibly that is the case for your husband too. Fingers crossed for you both! 🤞🏽

Same with my Dr. He said it's sent electronically also. Not sure how or when it's received by consulate.

Has anyone completed their medical with Dr. Gulzar Cheema in Surrey BC?  I have been DQ'd and waiting for an interview date but being from Alberta was thinking of having medical completed here before interview.  Just wondering if anyone has had any expereinces with this office.

I don’t think you can get medical done before you get the interview letter. I’m from Alberta too.. waiting for the interview letter.

I am not getting it done before interview date is received just seeing if anyone has experience with this office or if I am better to travel east for the medical is all.
