I have a question, i didnt get an email for documents upload. Do i need to upload them or just taking them to the interview is fine?

I personally didn’t and it was fine but I heard they appreciated when someone did upload them ahead of time!

The interview letter mentions that cellphones are prohibited but I thought that someone said they had lockers there to keep them? Can recent interviewees confirm please? In doubt I just won’t bring mine but it’s a pain.
Can we bring an umbrella? 🤔

The following items are prohibited inside the U.S. Consulate:

  • Food and beverages

  • Weapons or tools

  • Briefcases, backpacks, luggage, or large purses

  • Electronic or recording equipment of any kind, including, but not limited to: laptop computers, cell phones, PDAs, audio and video players, and pagers

  • Oversized strollers

  • Nail files and nail polish “

My wife brought her cell phone and it wasn't a problem. They have a place to lock it up until you leave.

My husband had his interview this morning. He was approved. The one thing that they asked about was his new passport. They said it wasn’t uploaded but I had uploaded it into CEAC so not sure where I was supposed to upload. He had a color copy though that they took and was a non issue. Said the CO was great and asked him if it was him that put the binder together because it was so well organized. He said nope, my wife. Lol

He was done in 1 hour 15 min. The longest part was waiting to go up to the window for actual interview that only lasted a few minutes. Told him his Visa will arrive within 5-7 days and will be able to track online.

Congratulations and best wishes for your next adventure!

Wife had her interview this morning. She said everything went great. Everyone was really nice. I went ahead and uploaded updated I-864, 2019 tax transcripts, new police certificate, W-2, and paystubs since some people were getting emails to upload these things. We never got an email about it and the first lady that called her up was really impressed that we already had everything taken care of and uploaded. She only asked for her birth certificate, our marriage certificate, my divorce decree, and one passport photo. Interviewer only asked when we met and where I was currently living (I'm a Canadian PR and we were living together in Canada until May of last year when I returned to the US to reestablish domicile, get a job, house. etc.) My wife's medical expires Oct 25 with the one month extension. They said they had to update the expiration on the medical then everything would be approved and processed. She was in and out in 45 minutes. I don't usually post much on here because most of my questions were already answered in reading our previous message group. But I wanted to thank everyone here for all the help. People speaking on their experiences with different steps of the process help everyone else to be prepared and avoid further delays. So thank you thank you thank you! My baby's coming home!

Congratulations and best wishes for your next adventure!

Thanks @Hawk Riders!!

———

Quebec’s PM and health minister have just announced some new Covid rules for Montreal (and other QC towns) starting Thursday. None will impact the consulate for now :) we can all take a deep breath.

To sum up, no one will be allowed to be in a home where they don’t live (so no social gatherings and parties); bars and restaurants will close; and a third one that I can’t remember... They’ll start with a 28 days period.

Thx for sharing.

It is a big relief.

Congrats that's amazing! My medical expires on October 16 (7 months from exam) with my interview next week and hoping my passport comes back in time. The consulate is changing the date of her medical for her @JenTex? Can you clarify?

You guys see the new restrictions in Montreal? Please tell me it doesn’t effect embassies?!

The new restrictions don't effect the consulate, just places where people gather such as bars, restaurants, movie theaters, etc. Plus they rescheduled more K1 cancellations today which they wouldn't have done if they were planning to close as a result of today's announcement.

Do we know how many more reschedules they have left? Would have been nice if there was a massive K1 tracking sheet somewhere (similar to ours) I could review LOL

They're working on/maybe done March 25th and next up is April 1st (they only had interviews once a week pre covid). The most recent interviews were scheduled for October 21st. Looks like they're moving pretty fast.

I'm still hopeful for a November interview. Only 15 days left until the third week of October🤞

That is correct. Her medical originally expired on Sep 25 and they had to go in and change the expiration to Oct 25 to add the one month extension. So she technically has 27 days validity left on her medical until she has to enter the US. You will only have 9 days validity left (your interview is OCT 7, correct?) so that'll be cutting it close for them to get the visa mailed to you and for you to cross the border. Hopefully they'll send the visa to you asap instead of making you do another medical but I'd be prepared for the latter.
