Great question! English isn’t my husband’s first language either. I always wonder how he can best answer the “how and where we met” question. What would be considered just the right amount information to answer that question best? For example, can my husband say: We met online through mutual friends on social media in 2012, started dating, and met physically in person in 2013 in Canada. Dated for 5 years until getting married in 2018.

Is that an acceptable response, or too much information (or too little)? ☺️

Honestly English is my first (and only) language and I still don't know what the right amount of information is to answer that question haha! Or the where does your spouse live question - do they want to know just the city or the address down to the postal code? I figure they deal with a lot of nervous people who don't know how much information to give and will just ask for more if we don't give enough (and I doubt giving too much information about our spouses is bad in this situation unless we're just listing it like we memorized a fact sheet 😂).

I honestly doubt they will shut down the city. I believe they will shut down what need to be shut down (bars) and I hope they will give more tickets $$$ to the ones that aren’t respecting the rule of social distancing. They want to avoid to do another lockdown like what happen in March...

Me too. I think a lot of places are looking to European cities that started having their numbers increase a few weeks before they did in Canada to see what they're doing and as far as I'm aware they're still lockdown free. They know a lot more about the virus now than they did when they first locked down, they've had a lot of time to prepare the medical system, and CERB just finished which would definitely be required for another lockdown so I really don't see them locking down again unless things get dire (which I really hope they don't).

I am not a lawyer and nothing I say is or should be taken as legal advice.

My husband had his interview this morning. He was approved. The one thing that they asked about was his new passport. They said it wasn’t uploaded but I had uploaded it into CEAC so not sure where I was supposed to upload. He had a color copy though that they took and was a non issue. Said the CO was great and asked him if it was him that put the binder together because it was so well organized. He said nope, my wife. Lol

He was done in 1 hour 15 min. The longest part was waiting to go up to the window for actual interview that only lasted a few minutes. Told him his Visa will arrive within 5-7 days and will be able to track online.

CONGRATULATIONS! ❤️  How awesome that they appreciated your binder organization! This group definitely helped me get my act together and get SUPER organized with our immigration binder.

Congratulations!!!  Hoping they clear the backlog quickly and work to reunite families ASAP.

Congratulations @US-EH!!

I agree with the organising part, my interview binder is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen 😍😉

Is there any way of knowing if outstanding documents post interview have been received by the embassy? They deliberately close all lines of communication. I son't even know if my wife's medical has been received by them and cannot get any answers. Just canned email responses. wondering if I should just have her re-do the police certificate. But once it's sent How will i know if they received that also?

Does it matter that photocopies of documents such as passport, marriage certificate etc are in black and white? 😨 I hadn’t thought of that until I read US-EH’s post saying their spouse had a colour photocopy of their passport so it was fine...

Let me know what they say! We wanna go thru that crossing as well!

Agent at the booth this morning said that IR visa holders are allowed entry through the Lynden border. Of course it's always at the discretion of the officer, so I would suggest calling them once you have your passport back after your interview to confirm.

Are you talking about for the interview stage? They actually didn't even look at my copies, they just took the originals. I don't even know why they asked us to bring copies expect for the chance that we might get separated from our documents. If it's for interview stage, I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm not sure... that's tough... It is really hard to communicate with them, but if the police certificate expires soon that may be best cause you'll need time for her to cross the border once everything is resolved  too...
