Seems like Montreal and Quebec City are going to be in Red Zone soon. Really hope this doesn't impact Embassy operations

I honestly doubt they will shut down the city. I believe they will shut down what need to be shut down (bars) and I hope they will give more tickets $$$ to the ones that aren’t respecting the rule of social distancing. They want to avoid to do another lockdown like what happen in March...

It is smooth sailing if you have a marriage certificate, a copy of CDN Citizen's passport and a solid quarantine plan. I recommend having a copy of the CDN passport for the USC to carry with them, in case you have to separate at customs within the airport.

Awesome! I’ll make sure to have all these items! Thank you ☺️

Questions for those who have interviewed: would you say that the officers ask you simple questions to confirm some information (where you met, what your spouse does for a living, etc.) or more so questions to test you? English is not my first language and I'm worried I'll get nervous and say something wrong - even if we've known each other a long time and our relationship is of course legit.

Great question! English isn’t my husband’s first language either. I always wonder how he can best answer the “how and where we met” question. What would be considered just the right amount information to answer that question best? For example, can my husband say: We met online through mutual friends on social media in 2012, started dating, and met physically in person in 2013 in Canada. Dated for 5 years until getting married in 2018.

Is that an acceptable response, or too much information (or too little)? ☺️

This is exactly what I mean, especially because I get chatty when I'm nervous! Any insight would be appreciated :)

Wife had her interview this morning. She said everything went great. Everyone was really nice. I went ahead and uploaded updated I-864, 2019 tax transcripts, new police certificate, W-2, and paystubs since some people were getting emails to upload these things. We never got an email about it and the first lady that called her up was really impressed that we already had everything taken care of and uploaded. She only asked for her birth certificate, our marriage certificate, my divorce decree, and one passport photo. Interviewer only asked when we met and where I was currently living (I'm a Canadian PR and we were living together in Canada until May of last year when I returned to the US to reestablish domicile, get a job, house. etc.) My wife's medical expires Oct 25 with the one month extension. They said they had to update the expiration on the medical then everything would be approved and processed. She was in and out in 45 minutes. I don't usually post much on here because most of my questions were already answered in reading our previous message group. But I wanted to thank everyone here for all the help. People speaking on their experiences with different steps of the process help everyone else to be prepared and avoid further delays. So thank you thank you thank you! My baby's coming home!

Amazing news! Congratulations!!! :)

That's exactly what my wife did! LOL She said we met online in 2004, met in person in 2016, and got married in 2017. And the lady said ok that should be enough and then just asked where I'm currently living. That was it. Probably because my wife answered so many questions with her first reponse. LOL.

+ other question: I’ve uploaded the updated I-864, 2019 tax transcript and W2, as well as a more recent police check. Is that sufficient or should I also upload any supporting documents? Did the officers seem to expect that from applicants?

I’m the beneficiary and we’re using my income and savings to qualify. Should I upload my employment letter, bank statements etc?

Just confirming that I haven't missed anything, but aside from reschedules and that one expedite mentioned a page or two ago, there have been no IR/CR-1 appointments scheduled yet this month, right?  What month of DQ were they up to when they stopped back in spring?  Is this information in that one spreadsheet?  Because I can't make heads nor tails out of that thing.  😐

OK, thanks, I believed they were 5 months behind but couldn't find confirmation.  I know it's wishful thinking at best to extrapolate an interview date from that but we're trying to hold on to anything at this point even if it's nothing but a possible potential ballpark.

You must jump five feet in the air every time you get an email notification.  I know I would if I was that close!  Good luck!
