How was the experience on the train? Did you feel that they were taking good precautions against the virus? I'd been thinking about how to get there since I'd normally take the train but worried about the air quality vs the filtering on a plane.

I felt they were taking good precautions. They pre-screen you with the regular COVID questions before you are allowed to board. We took the early / first train out of Toronto so it was not packed. We returned on the midday train out of Montreal. I figure the railcar we were sitting in normally holds around 70 or more people if it was fully packed. Each way there were maybe 25-30 people on board. They try to space it so that you sit one person at each window and then the two aisle seats are blocked off. You also pick your own seats so we selected rows near the back that were away from other people. You wear your mask the whole trip except when eating or drinking and they do enforce this. They also give you disinfectant wipes if you order anything off the carts to eat or drink on board as well. If you order anything you pay with debit/credit and they do have tap.

So we got the CD for X rays from Dr.Cheema. Is it okay to open this package or should we just leave it?

You can open it! They send the medical to the consulate electronically now and the cd and immunization record (that’s what Dr. Cheema’s office gave me after my medical) are for your own records.

I am not a lawyer and nothing I say is or should be taken as legal advice.

LOL.

The question was how to get the I864 from CEAC. I wasn't able to download it from CEAC. Then I remembered that I had uploaded it from my computer so I printed off the I864 from my own files.

There actually is an expiration date on the actual form on the top. I had to complete a new one since mine was long expired. I’m the petitioner! Signed it and husband has the original.

I don’t think it matters if the information hasn’t changed in the form. I updated mine anyway. Better to be over prepared lol.

We're supposed to fill out a new one if the original one expired? The original one I uploaded to CEAC expired 3/2020.

I would, especially if you/your petitioner’s information has changed at all. I completed a new one just for my peace of mind.

So we did an upgrade police certificate through the commission and they put it under “personal reasons” and “other”. Will this still work for the interview?

That’s what I have. It’s different from the one I got last year but commissionnaires  said it’s the right one. I’ll find out next week.

Apparently, they seemed to have just update to this new format this month! My husband got his renewed in October and was given the privacy act other provide details one (same one as in the spreadsheet). I’m hoping it’ll be fine/accepted...

I am really concerned that mine doesn’t say privacy act on it. I hope the consulate is aware of the change and still accepts it.

Yes! That’s the real question. Does the consulate know this is the new/updated police certificate? Lol

And for those of us that have interviews coming up, will the privacy act one still be accepted given this recent/new change? It seems that the folks that got a police certificate in November are all following this new format. Anyone before November was still being issued the privacy act one. I definitely don’t have the time now to get a new certificate, so let’s hope they are accepting the privacy act ones still!

When you are called up to provide your original documents, is there a ledge for you to place whatever you have the files in as you pull them out or are you balancing it in the air?

Yeah there's a ledge. The window all the way at the end where I had my interview even had a hook where I could hang my coat (as the interviewer kindly pointed out to me) :)
