I don’t think your husband would have to self isolate for a full 14 days, my provinces restrictions say that if you aren’t staying for a full 14 days to just self isolate for the time that you’re in the country. My plan was have my husband drive up and self isolate in the hotel room for the one or two nights he’ll be in Canada, however long until we drive back down to America

I would be very cautious about that. I am an American Citizen and came to Quebec in August to stay with my wife until her immigration could be finished. At the Canadian border I had to show all the paperwork that we were married and that she was awaiting immigration to the US. I had to prove that I was staying in a place to be properly self isolated for 14 days. They took my email and my cell phone and told me to not turn off my cell phone. I had to provide the contact details of where I was going to isolate and where my wife would be staying as well. While I am 100% sure as an American I could have left early and came back to the US. I would not risk that being an issue trying to return to Canada where they can plainly see I left before my self isolation was over.

Hi everyone! I have got the google doc showing the Montreal visa data, and I am very happy to see Montreal consulate has been processing and rescheduling our applications. Could anyone please help me figure out my approximate interview time in Montreal based on the current processing speed?  I got my DQ in July 2020. Could I got the interview time in some time April or May of 2021?

I am also applying schools in the U.S., and I really hope my case can get a result by July or August in 2021 right before the school starts. Thank you f or your guys suggestion and answer, and I am very grateful.

April/May is reasonable assuming they do about 1 month of DQ dates per month moving forward. That being said, as late as March 2020 all the data and predictions said my interview would be in May, but it didn't end up being until November because of the pandemic. No one knows what the future holds and I would have a back up plan for school just in case.

We emailed on Monday and got an appointment for today. Apparently they were extremely busy, so they’re probably booked up. I’d just email again because they don’t schedule via phone.

Thank you for the note that yours was scheduled quickly. We emailed Dr Cheema's office again. We were told that hubby's email from last week ended up in their spam folder, so today's contact was the first they'd heard of us. That's a bit worrisome considering it's a regular gmail account. But, luckily all went smoothly today and hubby is now scheduled for his medical on Dec 2, his first day out of quarantine.

Hi VJ Fam! I'm getting a bit nervous about something...

My husband just got back his immunity results for the vaccines required and he needs a few vaccines. One of the vaccines is 2 doses (6 weeks apart), but our interview is coming up in 2 weeks. He can get the FIRST dose this Saturday. Does anyone know if it's okay to just get the first dose done and get the letter of confirmation by a family doctor before the immigration medical? I read somewhere that you can immigrate if you receive the first dose and that should be enough to clear the medical for immigration purposes. We will ensure my husband receives the remaining doses in the United States. Does anyone have any experience with this or know if this is okay? Thanks for the help as always! 🙏

Hi VJ family,

First of all, i want to congratulate everyone who got their letters and also got approved to finally be able to go live with their spouse. Can't wait to be with my wife.

I have one question and hopefully some of you can answer it please. I got my DQ email 3 days after submitting my last document so it went amazingly quick to be accepted which gave me great hope for the consulate step, but after reading some of your stories not so much lol. Even though it seems from the visa issuance that Montreal did 100 plus IR1/CR1 combine last month hopefully it's a good sign for all of us moving forward. My question is this

I would love to know which vaccines are required for US immigration please. I have my immunization paper and even the little book when we were a toddler and up ( I'm from Montreal) don't know if it's the same for all Canada. I would love to go to a clinic and not have to pay at the medical exam since it's expensive enough. I would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me which one a required please, so that part can be out of the way.

Thank you very much and good luck to all of you on your journey. Many blessings

I would suggest looking at this part of Dr.Zatzman’s website as it describes in detail what you need. I’ve selected the vaccination requirements for age 18-64, but he has separate sections by age.

I’m a nutshell you need to be up to date on:

- tetanus diphtheria

- MMR (measles, mumps and rubella)

- chickenpox (vaccination or a verbal deceleration that you had the disease as a kid)

- influenza (if your interview is in flu season)
