Hi,

Just a quick question. Does anyone know the exact timeline. I'm planning to go abroad but i am afraid if i get my interview date in the meanwhile. I got Dq in late May.

Is it safe to travel for two months?

My DQ is June 2nd and planning on flying out in Dec and return early April. Delta has flexible scheduling at no extra charge so I’ll be checking monthly whether I stay longer or not.

I think you should be okay to travel for 2 months. Just be sure you're prepared and have all your unexpired documents. At the current rate MTL is going, Jan DQs are should get interviews in December. I'm envisioning something like this for the next 6 months of DQs (this is my speculation and only works IF spousals get scheduled in Dec):

Jan DQs --> December interview (NVC Nov interview letter)

Feb DQs --> January interview (NVC Dec interview letter)

Mar DQs --> Feb interview (NVC Jan interview letter)

Apr DQs --> Mar interview (NVC Feb interview letter)

May DQs --> Apr interview (NVC Mar interview letter)

June DQs --> May interview (NVC Apr interview letter)

It's very possible Jan/early Feb DQs could get scheduled in December OR some end of Jan DQs seep over into a January interview, etc. depending on how often they schedule.

I did notice how very few DQs there were in March and April on the spreadsheet. If this is the case it might shorten the wait time. (Wishful thinking)

If you look at the spreadsheet there are only 12 people who were DQ'ed in March and April for both the months combined. Usually there are 12 - 25 people getting DQ'ed every month. I am not sure if NVC was slow processing cases during that time. If that's the case March and April interviews could be done in Feb.

Also pre-covid NVC used to take anywhere between 2 - 4 months for DQ after document submittal, whereas after Covid it came down to a week. E.g. - I submitted my docs on July 7, 2020 and was DQ'ed on July 10, 2020 which indicated there was a reduction in # of cases they were receiving.

I'd recommend waiting until Monday / Tuesday of next week.  By then, we will see how far down the list we get for December (if at all)....  Think that  @Lovepeace0303 's estimates make sense.

A K1 received an interview for November 30th.  So far 2 K1’s  from April have dates. Don’t stop your emails and tweets or whatever asking about the process. Yesterday the consulate specifically said they were working on MARCH.

Agreed. I’m also done comparing the two categories. The Consulate knows they need to address Spousals too, so let’s just wait and see what happens next week. I’m mentally drained from all of this, especially with things that aren’t in our control.

Yep! What I provided is just a speculation based on what I’ve seen in their slow process post-covid. If 12-25 people are even scheduled on our VJ spreadsheet for December, I would be in that interview batch (as a Feb DQ). I just don’t know what # they will be scheduling based on our VJ sheet. We’ll have to wait and see when next batch of letters come out. Oct was a sad month, only 5-6 people on our VJ spreadsheet were scheduled and majority dates went to Ks in Nov anyway.

my data points: no change in status on CEAC portal after my interview, which was Monday. It remained as "ready". The first change was "Issued - undergoing admin processing" about 30hrs after the interview, which was yesterday, Tuesday.. It changed to "issued-final processing" today, Wednesday, 24hrs later. Shortly thereafter I received EMAIL notification of tracking number label being created including the tracking number. So from interview to tracking number was approximately: 54hrs.

edit: purolator estimated delivery date is Thursday, Nov 5
