Trump must be dancing right now, he can finally nominate snake Cotton or lying Ted.

Laughable.. both of these guys are sleazy politicians and don't have a principled bone in their bodies.

Consistency and younger age is what's gonna do it.. and Amy Coney Barrett already looks like that, and she already has the support of Manchin.. I hope people in WV are watching since the guy is purely gauging on his re-election chances, and he just had one, so I'd say his chances of voting against are higher, since people's functional memories in politics tends to be two seconds.

I don't need lectures in decorum on this topic. Just look at some of the "death watch" threads that have started.  The fact is Mcconnell has promised to undo his own "Merrick Garland" doctrine.

Lol I was lecturing you? If I had been you’d be more learn’t . Your cattiness was enough to call for your respect. Your wish to speak about her detractors as they honor her appears the source of hypocrasy

I don't know if we are still electing people to serve the country.

Awesome, so now I am being "catty" on top of being instructed to "show respect". Have a good evening.

I just don't see it happening until next year......but I predict it will be a Trump pick who will replace RBG.

The McConnell rule says that if the Senate and the WH are in different parties, then we should wait until the following year.  But if both are in the same party, the nomination can be done by the sitting president.

A reference to Mitch Mcconnell's commitment to move a SP court justice through the senate this year.

Is there something wrong with doing that?

It's bad enough having a presidential election during a pandemic. Mixing in a SCOTUS confirmation at the same time will be entertaining, to say the least.

There's no reason to ever wait. It was always apparent that it was just partisan politics.

They don't actually need to confirm a justice if they don't find a suitable candidate, but there is no reason not to move forward with a nomination hearing. It was BS when he pulled it with Garland.

Don’t disagree at all.  But I didn’t get a vote on the matter.

Someone can disagree with another and still respect them for their commitment. Show respect

Amen. This what I just put on FB

RIP Ruth Bader Ginsburg. What an amazing purpose driven life she lead. You dont have to agree with someone to respect them. I hope we can honor her life  before the nastiness of today's politics start.

Don't you think it would be nice to have a SC that is not dead-lockable with the coming battle of the election/vote counting is nigh upon us?
