Just to add an another data point here. E-Filed on 2020/09/25 and still waiting to get "We are actively reviewing your application".

Hiya, welcome! We're in a similar boat then. We also e-filed, NOA1 on the 25th of September and currently at the Nebraska Service Center.

Having seen multiple petitions from September receive their NOA2, has got me hopeful that we're up soon too, but it's annoying to see a petition with NOA1 of September 28th and one with NOA1 of October 20th get approval before us.

Our timeline:

Basically the same thought. Hopefully, we will get something in response soon. Good luck to you as well, brother.

My view on why I may have been fast tracked:

1. “Non problematic” country (France)

2. I already have a valid non immigrant visa (although not on it)

3. Post grad + cushy job in big firm on I-130a

4. Evidence submitted demonstrates significant income vs. age

5. Only immigrant sponsored (no kid)

Also my NOA2 actually says Nebraska so my case was apparently transferred but I never heard anything about it.

hope you guys’ petition gets approved soon.

best

I think my case is pretty similar to yours except your point 1. China, you know, haha.

I’ve been stuck on ‘USCIS is actively reviewing your case’ for 21 days now 🥴 starting to think it’s a bit of a glitch now as most seem to be approved the next day after receiving this update 🤪

Also one more interesting fact. I called yesterday to confirm which service center I am in since status update website said Nebraska and my actual receipt said Texas. Turned out to be in Texas so I guess believe your receipt not the website.

Nice 👍 I am only assuming I’m in Nebraska and not Potomac as my case status changed...and Potomac is insanely backlogged right now. I never called to check but I asked live agents a few times and they always said Nebraska...hard to know tbh 🤪

Just out of curiosity, what evidence in the initial petition did you include for point #4 (demonstrating significant income)?

Besides the job in I-130a (finance industry), I added the invoice for expensive wedding rings from one of the top global jewelers and made sure to include in the photo evidence pictures of us in business class, and at fancy hotels in “expensive” destinations (e.g., safari).

It's really interesting to know how the USCIS makes a decision on every petition. I don't think the financial aspect comes into play this early. I think this stage is about ensuring there is no fraud in play and that beneficiaries are deemed admissible, based on personal background.

Items 2, and 3 seem logical because you have been vetted by  the US DOS and the big firm you work for.

Yeah, finances are not taken in account in this stage of the VISA process.

I also don't think that expensive rings, business class and fancy hotels prove you have a stable high paying job. Taxes and pay slips prove that. Anything else you can save for, take a loan out for or have someone else pay for you.

In all I don't believe any of the points are why this particular petition went through faster. Most of us haven't even got a case update stating they are actively reviewing the case. All the points are void, if nobody has actually looked at our cases yet.

The problem is that cases seem to move through the system randomly.

It's as if they pass a case to a caseworker, I would assume, with the least cases assigned when it comes in regardless of origin and anything else. If you are lucky your caseworker has "easy cases" and moves through them faster.

At any rate, pretty much everything Darthvador stated applies to me too. I am from The Netherlands, which is with exception of the UK, the country with the longest trade relationship with the US, and also a non-problematic country. I don't have a non-immigrant VISA, because as EU citizens we don't need one. I have traveled to the US for work multiple times and for in-law visits on an ESTA multiple times over the past 6 years, without issues. I have a high paying IT job that will continue in the US (which I don't get to prove until the next step). And no kids for us either, just me. On top of that my wife and I have been married for almost 5 years, which is well past the bonified marriage condition of 2 years. It's an easy case that should get approval easily enough, as long as someone looks at it.
