So I can’t really complain because firstly the NVC processed my expedite request in less than 3 weeks and secondly they approved it !  For us I think the key element was the hardship that is being placed on our children, a factor that probably doesn’t apply to a majority of applicants.

The reply came from someone who identified themselves as a “contractor” which makes me wonder how much money government agencies are putting into the pockets of these random contract staffing agencies, but I digress.

The first thing I noticed was that they only referenced the case number of our youngest child, and not my wife or our eldest child, hopefully just an oversight or typo - but this email was then followed within 24 hours by 3 identical emails (one to each family member) stating that the Embassy had been forced to cancel our previously scheduled interviews (which we didn’t have) and would be rescheduling them.  So does this mean that we had been assigned interview dates and these are now being brought forward to “first available” dates, or is it a process workflow issue where the system automatically sends out an apology letter when your priority status changes ?

Anyway, thought I would share this as the end of our visa journey may finally be in sight.

Folks here have reported cancellations of interview dates when the expedited then a new appointment followed... Stay tuned

Good to know - thanks.  I have also heard that DCF filers get to choose their own interview dates, do regular filers get that same luxury or are our dates fixed appointments ?

Usually, the first interview date is scheduled by NVC.  On some instances they send an email instead telling the applicant to contact the embassy directly to schedule an interview.

If the former, after the interview is scheduled, wait a few days and then contact the embassy.  They will let you know if there are any other calendar spots are open and will give you instructions on how to reschedule.
