To get your LPR through marriage the couple needs to share finances and live together that is how the USCIS determines that you have a real marriage. If you don't do those two things together then you are putting your LPR at risk.

You should maintain the same home address with your spouse where your both get mail and you have a joint lease, have joint bills and file taxes together jointly.

Going to school a hundred(s) miles away from your home address with your spouse will in itself raise red flags with USCIS that you are not together with your spouse.

Best to move together somewhere where you can live with your spouse with a reasonable commute for each to school and to job or wait until you get your citizenship then go to school.

If you go through with the home on weekend and holidays plan best to document each trip and days with spouse as evidence for your case. If legal keep the same home address with spouse at all times. You will make your case harder to prove a bona fide marriage you will need to go to an extra effort for additional proof if you spend time away and rent another place stay the during the week.

This is false...

I am the living proof that just can remove your condition while living SEPARATE with your spouse...

I work as an engineer and I'm forced to live away from my wife.

All we did, is to explain our living condition ( we still have a place where we call home... With a lease on our name bills etc...)

I see my wife only one week every month until she is done with her MBA than she will join me.

USCIS are not dumb this kind of living situations are even recurrent among American....

Stop scaring people... If you do not have the experience then it's better to stay quiet

The dorm will not be your home.  Your home will still be your home.  You don't change your address on any information.  It will rather be like staying in a hotel during the week and being home on weekends.  I totally understand not wanting to drive for 4 HOURS a day.  That's ridiculous.  Be sure to co-mingle your finances and lives thoroughly before applying for ROC.  Joint accounts, buy cars/house/items together, wills, MPOA, etc... You will be fine.

Interesting how the majority are saying you will be fine, and one person has decided you won't.  So in this instance, try to trust the majority, especially those that already have experience in your situation and have posted.
