Hello! I booked an interview with the United States Embassy in London yesterday for 30th September (this was the latest date possible.)

We booked the medical, hotel, train, etc etc in adjacent to this. I am out about £250 on train and hotel alone :( (as I have to go to London twice, both tickets costing me around £100)

I was expedited and gave instructions on booking interview, I got the email from the NVC which sounded a bit like a placeholder. Can I just rebook through the website due to it being expedited? This is very upsetting.

Thank you.

This is still showing up too saying Attend Appointment... very confused.

I do have the opportunity to reappoint it on the website, but the latest one is the 23rd :( My medical is the 21st...

I don’t understand what you’re asking. What’s wrong with the 30th?

My interview date on the 30th got cancelled. But it says on the portal it isn't??? I don't know whats specifically wrong with it or why it got cancelled. That's my problem. :( I don't know if rebooking will be a waste of time or not, everyone else seems to get to their expedited interview so I don't know why mine was cancelled. It was on a Wednesday if that means anything.

I've read posts on here from people with expedited cases who got an interview cancellation email before they even had their appointment date. There's no confirmation on that email that they are talking about your appointment on the 30th is there? Given the website hasn't changed, I would just call the Embassy tomorrow to confirm, or wait for their reply to your email.

Seems I jumped the gun a bit early by freaking out over this. We were on hold with the NVC for over a hour, they said people have been calling all week saying this exactly and that we're fine. Thank god. This process has been so long and stressful.

Not sure why this is more stressful than anyone else? You lucky you got one for the 30th. This blog cracks me up😅

i didn’t understand from your post that an email cancelled you.  Yes, the expedite seems to generate a “cancel” email which may be more of an automation glitch than an actual person in the embassy sitting down to personally email you. I feel like your appointment for the 30th is still on.  Hope so.

I don't get the point of what you said.

How is it more than stressful than anyone else? I didn't say it was, I was saying that I was freaking out cause I was stressed and upset that my interview got cancelled, wouldn't you be? I got one for the 30th through expedites for perfectly legitimate medical reasons. I don't see how this is the issue? Why are you upset that I got an expedite? Yes I'm lucky, my wife isn't though, she's got a problem that'll persist for the rest of her life.

No need to be condescending.

I guess we are all stressed out now... I hope it works out for you now. It has been a long and hard journey 😬

OP, did you get an email that invited you to schedule an interview? We are also at the London embassy, and also expedited. Today, our status on CEAC scheduled to "Ready", and we've gotten two emails from NVC: the first, telling us our case was accepted for expediting, and the second, the cancellation email you mention in this post.

We're a little confused about whether we should be waiting for additional communication from the London embassy before scheduling an interview, or if we can go ahead and try to book. Thank you!!

Once your case says “ready” then start looking for open appointments on

Visa Appointment Service website at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv and follow these instructions:

  • Select “I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to schedule an immigrant visa appointment”;

It may not let you in if it is too soon so try again next day. You don’t actually need the letter they mention for anything so just say you have it to get to the calendar.

if you aren’t prepared with everything you have to take to the medical, then get that tended to before picking an interview appointment. Some NHS offices are slow to get you what you need. Also police certificate, 4 passport photos, etc. Medical appointments are easy to get. Visa appointments a kinda few and far between currently but keep checking and some will pop up.

👍

You’ll get a denial at your interview for lack of having medical results there in time. They will sort you when the report is received.
