Hi!
I’m a nurse by profession and I applied for EB3 visa this year and my priority date is March 2020 but not yet current in visa bulletin. However, my boyfriend and I decided to apply for K1 visa in June 2020 and to drop my EB3 visa application. So, i’m worried how this will affect my K1 visa application. I also want to know if there is anyone here with a similar situation like mine. I’m really confused and worried if I’m choosing the right decision. I hope to get insight from you guys.

You don't have any visa applications yet.  You are being petitioned for.  An applicant can have several petitions active simultaneously

YMMV

Thank you so much for your reply. So does this mean that both the petitioned filed under my name will not be a problem? Should I still prepare documents that I already gave up my EB3 petition and can it be a reason of RFE

No impact whatsoever. A petition is not a visa application. Many people have multiple petitions on the go at the same time - someone may be petitioned by a parent and a sibling at the same time, to see which one gets through faster, for example. You can leave the EB-3. If the petition is approved, you don’t have to proceed with the visa application. You can let the case die a natural death.

Just go ahead with your K1 application.. When you get to embassy stage you will then decide depending on which of them gets to consular stage first... As to effects they are independent and have no effect on each other.

Speak the truth even if your voice shakes
