Hey guys, next week me and my wife will attend to the long waited AOS interview!

Now our situation is a bit i would say different than i read here in the forum,

since i moved here my mother in law guested us *she is also co-sponsor*, now we were looking for apt since i started working recently {thanks god) and then we got the interview scheduled.

The *only* evidence bona fide marriage we have, beside me having my phone in her/her mother plan, and our joint bank account, we dont have utilities at our name, nor insurance, nor car

we recently bought a car but since her Mom helped us with her credit score i didn't join the car loan.

Well of course we have pictures together, phone calls *5/7 days for a year basically on her lunch break*

Wedding pictures, wedding letters with both names on, wedding album.

Do you guys think thats enough?

Thankyou for any of you that will spend time to reply!

The IO might ask why you don't have joint expenses, joint bank account, joint credit cards, joint health insurance, joint car insurance, etc. I would be prepared to answer those questions.

We do have a joint bank account, where me and my wife put on all our paychecks, and then we have 2 debit cards from this bank account, 1 at my name and the other one at her name.

Living with her mom she is still on her insurances, car/health.

On the paper we dont have any expense since we live with her mom so all the utilities are at her name

Is the joint bank account enough as proof?

Her Mother's insurance allows a married child to remain on the policy?  That seem unusual.  Anyway, you can only produce the evidence that you have.  The joint bank account is very good evidence.

Thankyou! Honestly that's the only "official" paper we have, we have a dentist bill at my name where it was paid for me with her old Debit card *before i had my work permit and SSN*

We have gift recepits for birthdays and other holidays so i dunno if those have any value

We lived with my parents for both AOS & ROC but had a lot more documentation ...

-Have your mother in law write an affidavit that she is allowing both of you to live there rent free as long as you need to. Have her submit proof that she owns the home (whether its the mortgage pay off or a mortgage statement) that verifies the address the 3 of you are living. This will cover your living arrangements the best you can.

-Provide a copy of you and your wife's ID that shows you reside at the same address

-Joint bank account- have multiple monthly statements preferably signed or stamped by the bank

-You said you recently bought a car- Are both of you on the insurance? if so submit that.

-Do you have any joint accounts like a  BJs membership?

-Are you the beneficiary on your wife's retirement.401k plan? Submit that proof

-Have you had any mail addressed to both of you at the house? You can submit that piece of mail

Thankyou! that helps a lot, we haven't thought about all those other options.

At our AOS interview the only thing we had sort of in both of our names was the electric bill. She was listed as an alternate account holder. Also, she was listed on my health insurance. The interviewer said that she did not expect very much to be in both of our names as this was AOS))) This is not the norm. Our AOS interview happened less than 5 months after submitting the 485 so that was probably one of the factors that led to them not requiring too much at the interview. You can only give them what you have) Good luck.

Finally done...

None of the cars are in my name and if I remember correctly, I wasn't even driving when we had the AOS interview. Don't worry too much about that. Definitely have the mother in law right an affidavit and maybe include her deed to the house (I don't know if that's necessary).

My IO was very interested in the photos I submitted. He completely ignored all the mail and boarding passes. But those might help you, who knows.

Does your wife have life insurance? With you as a beneficiary?

Yes, I forgot about that. Our IO seemed to take a big interest in our photos, too. She specifically asked my wife about my grown children in the photos with us. Names, etc. The boss knows the dates and ages better than me)))
