Hey y’all, we sent the AOS package through fedex to the Dearborn address on august 20th, it was received according to package tracking 5 days later on the 25th, it’s September 13th today and we have still heard nothing. No email, no text, no check deposited, no mail. Is this normal?

Also, my wife’s medical expires in early October. If they received it in august but didn’t start on it until mid October or later, will they make her go to a civil surgeon?

Thank you

Seems to be normal. First half of August was sadly (for us!) a lot faster than the second half. I filed 25th, received 28th and nothing yet either.

Hi Mogiftney,

Speaking from recent experience, this is absolutely normal.  We filed in June and the electronic text notification (with case number) from USCIS was received exactly 33 days after UPS said the packet was delivered to the Chicago lockbox.  The check was not cashed by the lockbox until right before the text notification  went out.

I sent my wife's AOS package via USPS priority mail on Friday, August 14. Received USPS scans Saturday, Aug. 15 and arrived in Chicago's mail distribution center on Sunday night, Aug. 16. Did not hear anything after that. I was worried it got lost, or buried in the mail. I filed a claim for lost mail, called the USPS almost everyday for three weeks. I got a text message Sunday night, September 6 that the USCIS received my cases (AOS, EAD, and AP). I received the NOA's in the mail on September 14th. The package was received by USCIS on August 17 and the NOA dates are September 1. I have still not received a delivery message from post services that it was ever delivered. Yeah, things are slow, but glad they made it.
