Kind of sad really.  I did learn one thing, apparently only black women work in groceries stores.  I also am wondering why he keeps his mask on with about 3-5 other people in the room at least 12 feet apart.  My last remark is relative to the portion where he had his notes spread out in front of him, and he would not look up as he seemed to be searching for something to jog his failing memory.

I have seen several instances of what seems to be  him asking his handlers to move the text up on his teleprompter while answering a question.  To me, it looked obvious that he was reading from a script.  I guarantee the Dems will do everything in their power to avoid any debates with Trump.......or maybe Biden can hide a small undetectable earpiece so he can  parrot what his handlers tell him to say.

My guess, if the debates actually happen, is the Biden team will put forth the Covid concern and say he will debate if it can be virtual, giving his handlers the opportunity to help him out with either an earpiece or teleprompter.

I also saw a video of him during an interview where he held up something which pretty clearly showed the reflection of his teleprompter.

Well, that capitalization should have flagged to you that I was being facetious. There are any number of people who have claimed over the past four years that Trump is in severe mental decline, that he's "sundowning," he rambles on incoherently, can't walk down stairs, has to use two hands to drink a glass of water, gets confused on which direction to walk, and on and on. Unless you have been living on the Mongolian Steppe with no access to the internet, I don't know how anyone could have missed these pronouncements.

But I am not a doctor, and I suspect you are not, either. More importantly, none of us are Biden or Trump's doctor. We are not qualified to make diagnoses for these men. We can say what we think we see, but we do so at a remove, through various lenses, some of which are clearly partisan, some not, some hiding their partisanship more effectively. We have our biases and prejudices. When I see Biden stumble, I see a man who has a serious, lifelong speech impediment. He slows himself down to prevent stuttering. Recordings of Biden over the years show him doing this again and again. I highly doubt you will agree with me, and that's okay. I am going on my perception, and what I have read about his stutter, and what others with speech impediments have said about how they work to control their own. Your perception says something different to you.

And when I see Trump, no, hear Trump, I hear a man whose speech patterns are sometimes rambling, who sounds confused at times, who speaks in run on sentences that begin on one topic and end on another altogether. And I also sometimes hear and see a man who is functioning just fine. I tend to think Trump sounds like he's doing just fine when there is no audience, like on the Woodward tapes. I do not think you will agree with me, and that's okay.

The likelihood of either of us convincing the other of our individual points of view is low -- were I to provide link after link of incidents, you could still say, yeah, don't see it. Which goes back to my greater point: we are not qualified to say this one or that one is suffering from mental decline. Nor any of the people saying "he's just like Grandpa Wilbur in his last years, so sad." We have only our biased perceptions -- we see what we wish to see.

Well, I appreciate you taking up that much bandwidth telling me what I will not agree with you on.  That deserves recognition of your precognition.  Be sure to include that on your platinum application.

Yes, Biden stutters, and there is nothing wrong with that, and the technique of slowing down is pretty normal.  The things that I see when he's talking are not about his speech impediment.  "If you don't vote for me, you ain't black!" has nothing to do with stuttering, for example.  Neither does mixing up his wife and his sister. (and even this, by itself, might be passed off as a simple mistake, I have spoken in front of many audiences, and have made similar gaffes... once in a blue moon)  Another one was when he asked the teleprompter to "move it up"... there was a disconnection in his eyes and a hesitation to begin speaking that to me looked like a synapse disconnect.  Another one I see people talking about and pointing to is him nodding off while talking to Hillary and I laugh.  I mean, who WOULDN'T nod off to that droning?

Trump is not an eloquent speaker by any means.  His use of repetition and crutch words are evidence that he has never taken a speaking class in his life (or if he did, he felt he didn't need to learn anything from it; yes, I'm being judgmental from a distance).  Trump's favorite word seems to be "I" (not that I've kept a word count, just a guess based on recollection).  "Great" is another word that comes to mind, and he overuses it to the point that it has become meaningless IMO.  He likes to build himself up, and in my mind, people who have a need to self-inflate are lacking self esteem and are trying to compensate.  Now, to say something in his defense, he is no politician, didn't come up in that arena, and so talks nothing like a politician.  He talks more like what he grew up as... a coarse NY contractor and builder.  (As an aside, on the matter of his tax returns, I don't think Trump wants to keep them secret because he cheats or lies; I mean seriously, he has TEAMS of CPAs doing his taxes for him, right?  I personally think he doesn't want anyone to know his actual net worth, because it is actually lower than what is believed, and for someone as boastful as Trump, that information would be hurtful to his image).

I don't share my convictions/beliefs/opinions on here to convince someone to think like I do.  If you thought like I do, we would have nothing to discuss because we each know what the other is thinking.  (And really, it would be impossible for us to think alike, given the whole Venus and Mars thing.)  I like reading other people's opinions/POVs, even if they conflict with my own.  That is the ONLY way I might be taken out of my comfort zone and perhaps modify my own views, whether it be to strengthen them as they are now, or to change them or perhaps help me see things in a different light.

I just watched a video of Biden speaking about "Trump's failure with the pandemic".  Biden literally looks like a hollow shell.......just reading a script. He has such a distant look in his eyes.  He just doesn't seem to be focused.

So sad that someone of his age should be put in this situation.

You're spot on, but on the point that he stutters I disagree..  I made the point in a previous thread that I myself am a stutterer of over 50 years, and I know first hand what goes on in the mind of a stutterer as we speak,  I also overcame the behavior through therapy only to revert back, so I know about that too.. I can tell you that what we are seeing from Biden has nothing to do with Stuttering, he overcame the social disease 60+ years ago,  Stuttering is a learned behavior and to his credit he overcame it, he's been stutter free since that time, his new and fluent behavior is so ingrained in his mind, it's almost impossible to have a relapse or revert back to the old habits such as word scanning and substitution..  And for those who don't know, Stuttering begins in early childhood at age 4-6 years old, when a child is learning to speak, it doesn't begin at age 77-100.. . If anyone were to look on Youtube of Bidens days in the Senate or when he served on the Judiciary,  and also his 2 Presidential runs in 1998 and 2008, one would never think he was a stutterer then, Odd how the subject never came up, but now that he's displaying early signs of Dementia, his handlers and the Democrat party are using it as an excuse to cover up for something much greater..  Most are ignorant on the subject so many will buy into the lie, but for anyone who has a family member or friend who has suffered with Dementia, they recognize what's going on, and it's not Stuttering.

Here is a clip from the video I saw.  Biden is showing the interviewer a picture.  I have circled the part of the reflection which appears to be the teleprompter.  (Credit to Mark Dice)

So sad that someone of his age should be put in this situation.

It's outright elder abuse.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thank you SO MUCH for your honest input on this.  I was trying to be gracious, but you bring a clarity to the discussion that is beyond reproach that most of us could not offer.  Not to mention that you have proposed ideas that I never considered before, such as it being a "learned behavior".  Definitely worth researching further, and I shall.
