The Tokyo Embassy resumed K-1 visa services last week, but every time we try to schedule an interview, the site says there are no available interview dates. Other people on social media have commented that they were able to see a calendar and schedule an interview. I don't know if this is specific to the Tokyo Embassy, but has anybody else had trouble scheduling an interview after their embassy supposedly resumed services? (On the flip side, I'd love to hear people's success stories and hear specifics on how they were able to schedule their K1-visa interview.)

Either way, I hope everyone's staying safe and healthy and finding ways to stay connected with their fiance through these troubling times.

Montreal, Canada just said on social media that we'll be contacted directly with instructions. So far, no one has actually heard anything and no one has been able to self-schedule. Japan uses a different scheduling system from us though. I'd email the embassy and ask what's going on if others have been able to schedule themselves and you can't.

The embassy has only a limited number of interview slots to fill. When they are filled then it's up to the embassy when they will open another scheduling month. Until then you will see the calendar "grayed out" indicating no available interview slots. Keep checking as there are often cancellations that you can grab, or they open a new month. Good luck and stay engaged.

You may want to reach out to people in the "All Japan Filers" regional thread (all visa types).  It's fairly active and will get you connected with more people who are currently interacting with the embassy in Tokyo.  Definitely interested in hearing how your scheduling goes as it updates.

Thanks everyone for the insight! I'll definitely check out the All Japan Filers thread as well.

After periodically checking the Tokyo embassy site and reading what other people have experienced, it does look like dates periodically open up, but with no real rhyme or reason which dates become available. When we finally saw a calendar displayed, only one day was open on September 17. We haven't filed for the medical exam, so we weren't able to grab that date, but hoping for the best for something towards the end of the year.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks
