A- Number question for I-485 Form

Hello 

 

We are withdrawing our K1 process and decided to apply for AOS directly. 

 

Filling up the application we noticed that the I-485 requests to fill up the A-number.  Could we use the A-Number given on the NO2 even after withdraw it? or better to leave it blank? as it might be different?

Your A Number is assigned once.   Just like a social security number.

That is actually not true. I myself have two A#s. One from my OPT EAD, and one from my I-140 approval I-797 later on. I recently filled for a marriage based AOS, and expect a third new A# when my EAD arrives.

Did you leave A-number field in I-485, I-765, etc. blank? Having multiple A-files can cause complications (e.g. delay) at I-485 adjudication.

Sure like a SSN you can have multiple A Numbers.  This can cause delays when doing ROC or Citizenship. No one wants a delay.

Nope, I filled it with my most recent A#. Also, in one of the forms, one of the directions asked for other A# used before and specified that I needed to add those at the back of the form in the additional information section, and I did that as well.

Ok, that is good. Odds are the new EAD will use one of those two A numbers.
