Hi,

I filed I-130 forms for my parents, and they were approved 4 months apart.

My mother's NVC case number was created 4 months ago, her AOS and IV fees were paid, and IV application (Form DS-260) was submitted. We kept the remaining steps on hold until my father gets approved so they can proceed in the NVC process together and have a joint interview at the embassy.

My father's I-130 was approved this week, and earlier this morning, we received the NVC case creation email for him, with a new case number, different than my mother's case number that was created 4 months ago.

What surprised me is that the AOS fee in my father's NVC case that was just created is shown as (Paid), but I can't find any other indication that both cases are linked. Does this mean that both cases are already linked? Or do I still need to call/email NVC to link them?

What about financial documents to be uploaded, will uploading it in one case be automatically reflected on the other case? Or I'll be uploading the same documents twice? I'm going to have a joint sponsor.

Thanks in advance.

Great! Thanks for confirming.
Does this link guarantee a joint interview at the embassy?

There are never any guarantees in life, but they will almost certainly be interviewed together. The fact that the financial documentation fee shows paid is proof they are linked as Wals mentioned. I am just ahead of you with my parents Documentarily Qualified and waiting for the interview, which is on hold due to the immigration ban.

Good luck!

Hi @AudiRS6 Just wondering about your process. I am in the same boat now. I received NVC case number for my mother but not yet for my father. I am planning to wait till I get the case number for my father. I had a question about the form I864, AOS that you filed - for Part3, which option do you choose? I was thinking option 1 and 2, but 2 specifically says not if they have separate petition. Please let me know if you still have your old documents or remember how you filled out the form.

It should be Part 3 (a) (Yes) I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2. I-864 should be filled separately for your mother and father (2 x I-864)
