Hi,

I am a green card holder and residing in the US. I got my visa through the EB1 category. My husband is in India. He was documentarily qualified from NVC on January 29th, 2021. I know things are very backlogged. However, is anyone in the same boat? Does anyone know where we can check which immigrant visa interviews are being scheduled at the US consulate in Mumbai? I just want to get an estimate of the wait time. I will appreciate your response.

Thank you!

Maybe another year before IL at least.

What is your pd and which service center?

PD and service center is irrelevant it's all about DQ once your case is at NVC.

Currently my case falls under F2a category but in sept as soon as my husband gets his citizenship we will upgrade it to CR1 category. I haven’t received approval yet just wanted to know how long will it take? My pd is May 2020. How long will it take to upgrade my case and DQ?

That is true Amrit. PD and service center is irrelevant once the case is NVC. Another 6-7 months you say? Why do you think so? I have been waiting for 5 years, maybe another 6-7 months more. Thanks for your reply.

Once your husband gets his Citizenship you will need to submit a request to NVC and it will take between 1-2 months for an approval then your case should get converted.  Your DQ does not change after your case is converted so that is a good thing since you won't have to requeue for IL.

Hey, I was saying 6-7 months to the May 2021 USC spouse.  I said maybe another year at least for you because F2A is still stuck in December 2019, hopefully they clear December and January this week.

Thank you so much for replying 🙏🏻 One past question did you mean that first my case will get approval and then it will get converted to CR1?

Once your husband gets his naturalization certificate he should submit an update request to NVC.  They will review it and approve it anywhere between 1  to 2 months based on current workload.  Then your case will get converted to CR1 or IR1 if you have been married for 2 years.  You said you already received your DQ, correct?  Then that DQ will not change and you should expect IL when other IR1/CR1 folks for your DQ do.
