How long does it take for NVC to review the documents? I just got my first email from NVC a couple days back and paid the fees online at CEAC.

Thanks!

Depends on how many cases are being transferred to them by USCIS. It took less than a month last fall for our case to be DQed after we submitted everything and that’s even with them sending an email wanting a document we had already uploaded and that we just uploaded again. Some areas, Mumbai esp, are making you put your wife’s name in passport to get PCC, took us longer to get that new passport with my name added to it and PCC (2 months) than took NVC to DQ us.

Thank you! Hopefully its not much longer now as compared to last fall for the DQ.

I recently renewed my passport and my wife's name is on it, lucky haha

They usually do it in a few days, depending on the backlog.  You will probably receive something next week, then join the queue with us :D.

Again this question is coming up, either I'm crazy or some people here don't understand what a IR1/CR1 is. You CANNOT get a CR1 or IR1 visa UNLESS your spouse is an US CITIZEN

Just ignore it at this point.

Yeah, the PCC delayed my wifes case by 40+ days.  Wish it was simple as the U.S. or Canada, you can go in and get a copy right away.

Could you please tell us regarding the photographic evidence we need to carry???

I have pics taken through phone??

Are these acceptable??

Do I need to get it print on a4 size paper or picture quality paper???

Just make small album which included your marriage picture(they are interested in picture with gathering, they want to see how many people attended your weeding), post marriage pics, places you visited with your spouse.  Just print out from your cell phone and make a small album

At this point I am going to probably unplug myself from visajourney until I get an interview email.  This is just causing me to feel depressed lol.

Do keep me posted if you get any email or information regarding interviews. I will do the same here in this thread. Thank you

Will do. So far all i know is that the customer service at mumbai embassy told my wife to email support-india@ustraveldocs.com with our details such as interview letter and visa type and state how our interview was cancelled. Still waiting on hearing back from them.

Dear Applicant:

We understand that you have a query regarding the resumption of services / cancelation of your appointment

U.S. Consulate Mumbai, in light of the rapid and severe rise in COVID-19 cases centered in Maharashtra state, is cancelling most immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments from April 12, 2021 onward, and will provide only limited mission-critical and emergency services. Your existing visa interview appointment scheduled for April or May 2021 is cancelled. Once the Consulate resumes regular consular operations, appointments will be made available and applicants will be able to reschedule.

If your biometric appointment is scheduled for future date, you may continue to attend your Biometric appointment as per the scheduled date and time at the Visa Application Center or you may reschedule both, biometric appointment as well as Mumbai Consulate appointment once made available.

For any updates on appointment availability, you may continue to check the important notice section on this website www.ustraveldocs.com/in.

Please do not contact the call center or customer support—simply login to your profile and schedule your visa interview appointments at Mumbai Consulate as available.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/gss_india to share feedback on the services we provide.

Sincerely,
U.S. Visa Service Desk
