My understanding is your passport is stamped and given to you right away on same date of the interview, is that correct?

In some cases if you have something pending , missing document or something then you have to send passport and wait for it to be stamped and returned after interview.

Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

You are correct. In our case, we needed another approval beside I130. Which got approval from USCIS. That's why our path is little different. Will update you how it goes.

Looks like you already had your interview and, your case was on hold for some more verification. Now everything is done and they want you to pick up your visa form Mumbai consulate. When was your 1st interview and is it for spouse visa or any other visa?

I already mentioned it's IR1. They want all documents again because it's been a year due to covid-19.

Got it , seems like you are waiting for visa for more that two years after marriage. Thats why your file got picked. Otherwise they are working on feb files I guess. But let’s see if they moved to the April files or not. Seriously it is taking so long now.

It depends on case to case. If you are CR1 category, you still will be interviewed. We are into IR1 category. We been interviewed before. We needed some more approval so it was stuck due to Covid. They are just processing again. Maybe that's why there is no interview but walk in.

You mean you had interview long time ago, and you were not given visa due to some complications, now may be your waiver or something got approved from USCIS. And case is ready again at consulate. All you have to update documents again, and they will send your visa at your chosen pickup location

if I’m right
