Hi guys.

I’ve had nexus since before even moving to USA.  As LPR all my docs are updated w nexus.

I cross the border frequently and have been worried that once my N400 goes thru I will have to wait to get a US passport before I can leave/enter USA.    I called US border at a land crossing and they told me l am fine with just bringing the naturalization cert with me.   I suppose I can just visit the nexus enrollment center and update Nexus and will be fine going forward since nexus is an acceptable document for North American travel.

Question to canucks w nexus.  Once you become dual citizen did DHS re-print your nexus card ?  My nexus says “Canada” under citizenship.  I wonder if they print Canada & USA on the card or if they replace it with USA or Just leave Canada on your nexus card.    I’d like to have both as it’s useful to have one ID that shows you’re a dual citizen

wondering what folks’ experiences have been here.

Thanks

Your Nexus card will only show one citizenship on the card. Mine wasn't issued until after I got dual citizenship, but it lists only my US citizenship. If you're crossing via land, the agents in the booth won't be able to confirm your Canadian citizenship if your card says US, but if you get sent in for additional processing they will be able to confirm it then (I also keep a picture of my Canadian birth certificate on my phone to show the agents in the booth). I don't know whether or not they will reprint for you, but I suspect not - I would think they would just change the citizenship when you get it renewed. You can go into the Nexus processing center to add new documents for your proof of US citizenship (your naturalization certificate should be sufficient). When I moved back up to Canada I just went to the processing center to prove my change of address.

Your nexus card shows your information on file.  So when you became an LPR you were supposed to update it and it shows your LPR status in the file.  I imagine it would be similar with having two passports, the file would just contain the information for both citizenships.

I know for my children they had them with Canadian citizenship. However, when they had their US citizenship, they took their nexus cards and had to wait until they received new ones with American status on it. Was a little annoying since we had to pay for new cards (less than year after getting them) and wait for the new ones in the mail.

At least NEXUS is still cheaper and easier to get an appointment  compared to Global Entry.
