They'll update the status to "card received" so you can watch for that on your myuscis account. But, yes, there will be a period of waiting where you are without any card. You might be able to get an emergency I-551 stamp in your passport during the time you are without the card.

Thank you! Will I be able to get an emergency I-551 stamp after I give them my card? Or I need to get it before I send it to them?

It depends on the local office. Best to try and set up an appointment or contact to find out.

I received my new 10-yrs GC on October 15th. Fortunately every information on it is correct!
