Comments:  Pakistan does not have a nationwide system to track criminal activities.  Police Character Certificates are available for a fee from District Coordinating Offices.  However, they are not an accurate reflection of an individual's criminal record.  An applicant who has committed a crime in one district may be able to obtain a clean Character Certificate from that district or another.  Given the inaccuracy of these certificates, they are not required for consular processing."

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

@Kha.. Why are you confused?  The DOS website clearly indicates that police certificates are not required for Pakistan CR-1 consulate processing.

well I don't think that the attorney has clue as to what is needed.  Plus if you needed a police clearance certificate then it is not needed at the USCIS stage.

 

You haven't bothered updating your timeline here and based on the forum you posted in I'm guessing you haven't filed yet or are about to.

Well the consulate know that the PCC isn't worth the paper it is printed on.  But nothing prevents you from going and getting one if you are so inclined.  I'd be surprised if the consular officer looked at it.   It is clearly stated on the Department of State's site that it is worthless.

I am from Pakistan and we already submit papers to NVC few months ago. Police certificate  is not rquired but when we submitting papers to NVC on CEAC, it shows as required which confuse us. But, anyhow I would recommend to get police certificate regardless is required or not. Just to be on safe Side. Don't take risk. Just get it regardless you would need it or not..

It's easy to get police certificate in Pakistan. Just get it and keep with you. If ask show them if not no harm.

NVC will always show it as required be default. It does not take into account cases where one is not required, such as for Pakistan.

No harm getting it if it makes you feel better, but nobody has been refused a visa for the lack of one from Pakistan, per the DOS reciprocity website.

Well , technically not but in interview they gonna ask for it.... and no one during the interview explaining him the rules. 
so it will be better if she make one. It is easy process. I make it less than for 2 dollar and it is approved by nvc. 
If your spouse is from punjab then go to

e-khaimat center and make it. it will cost you more but it is online. mean that embassy can also verify it.
People dont know but they ask PCC along with marriage certificate.
