Hello,

im a bit confused. My step dad is our joint sponsor so does he fill out his own 864? My mom and him file taxes together so would she have to fill out her own i864? or would it be i864A?

what is the best way to upload the 864 Onto the Nvc website once we’ve completed them?

Thank you for the help!

Your mom should file a i864a.    You would include your i864 and your joint sponsor's i864 and his wife's i864a as separate uploads in the same area.   With the appropriate description selected.

Thank you! And should We print out the forms, fill out the forms then take pictures to upload on the Nvc site? Or scan them all and upload them onto the Nvc site? I’m nervous the file will be too big

scanned,  the NVC should indicate what the size limit is for that section of uploads.  ensure your uploads are less then that size limit.

You might have the lower the quality of the documents to ensure they fit in the size limit.  The blank i-864 is 512K,  your scanned version should be under 2 megabytes.

Ok I have to file two 864s and one 864a. My step dad is the joint sponsor and my mom is a household member since they file taxes jointly. Part 5 I list my husband, who is the intending immigrant, under intending immigrants number 1.

I’m confused next. It seems the instructions say to list myself (his wife and first sponsor) as well as our two children. Is that correct? I’m just confused considering we’re not immigrants as we’re all US citizens.

sorry to be annoying, I’m just so confused and want to get all of our things submitted, even though the NVC website keeps saying “application error” when we try to log in. Very worrisome.

Which form says that? I-864, I-864A, or both?

Then, that's all. Leave Intending Immigrants Number 2-5 blank. The I-864A instructions say: "list any spouse and any and all children that appear on the sponsor’s Form I-864" which is referring to Part 3 of I-864. Part 3 of I-864 would be mostly blank for his case.

Thank you so much! Now if Nvc would allow me to sign in, we can submit everything! Nerve racking!
