AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I´m freaking outtttt!!! I chatted with USCIS today because it has been a month since we filed and they told me that our case has been received and the receipt notice was mailed on 10/22/2020 (weird cause I never got any texts). Anyway, my I-20 expires in 5 days so this news brings an enormous relief.

After asking me a security question they gave me the receipt number which starts with "MSC". Does somebody know what can I do with that info?

09/22/20: AOS package mailed  (I-130/I-485/I-765/I-944)

09/26/20: Package delivered

10/26/20: Checks cashed

10/27/20: Received texts with 4 receipt numbers

10/30/20: Received NOA1 in the mail, PD is 09/30/20

02/08/21: Received I-963 deficiency notice in the mail (dated 02/03/21)

02/26/21: Received Biometrics appointment letter for 03/17/2021 (dated 02/20/21)

03/17/21: Biometrics appointment completed

03/18/21: Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken (I-485)

03/19/21: Sent e-request for I-131 (Outside Normal Processing Time)

03/20/21: Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview (I-485)

03/22/21: Interview Scheduled

04/26/21: Interview - Case is being held for review

05/07/21: We ordered your new card (I-485)

05/10/21: I-485 & I-130 - Case Was Approved

05/14/21: Received green card in the mail!

google "USCIS Tracker". you can put that receipt number into the tracker to stay up to date on the progress. congrats!

MSC means your case is being processed by the National Benefits Center in Missouri. I think most of us in this thread have case numbers starting with MSC . Since your NOAs were mailed on 10/22 you should get them in the next couple of days. Check to see if your spouse got any texts or not. I might be wrong, but I think whatever phone number you mentioned in the G1145 form is the one where the text messages will be sent to.

RoC Timeline:

  1. 12/04/2023 - Application sent to USCIS Elgin, IL lockbox
  2. 12/07/2023 - Application received by USCIS
  3. 12/12/2023 - Received "Your case received" text message from USCIS. Receiipt # starts with IOE
  4. 12/13/2023 - Check cashed by USCIS
  5. 12/19/2023 - Received in mail the I797 with the receipt number and the online access code
  6. 12/19/2023 - Received in mail the bio-metric re-use notification
  7. 12/21/2023 - Received in mail the I797 NoA extending my green card by 48 months

Yeah, she didn´t get any texts either. I tried using the USCIS tracker to check on the receipt number but it says that it doesn´t exist.

I´m going to play the How does the USCIS work game here and say that maybe the system hasn´t been updated and that´s the reason behind the no texts and no tracking available. Will probably just take a little bit of time, like everything else 😋

Update: I just received my entire application back with rejection - reason: outdated version of the I-485 form.

I'm super confused because it says up top "expires 07/31/2021" what am I missing here?

And I wonder if my fee is now changing. They added a copy of my enveloppe with the date of the shipping so not sure. I'll keep you updated once I talk to an agent.

Under H1B valid until September 2022.

Just found it last night, now it expires on October 31th but I reprinted that form, sending the application back today.

I’m nervous because the agent kinda moved things around, and proofs, can’t even find all of my wedding certificate I had in there and not sure if I should be touching anything they did. Probably not. So I’m just going to re-add evidences that I had in the first version and pretend I didn’t see that they stapled all of my evidences in my I-130. Nerve wrecking! Hope this time will be the good one.

Got my NOAs today, 5 days after my checks were cashed. My priority date is September 25, 2020.

1. 9/25/2020 - Application sent to USCIS Chicago lockbox

2. 9/26/2020 - Delivered

3. 10/26/2020 - Checks cashed

4. 10/27/2020 - Received texts with receipts

5. 10/30/2020 - Received 4 NOA's. Priority date is September 25, 2020.

One odd thing, when I go to check on my case status the receipt doesn't work and it says its invalid. I assume this is just the system not being updated? Anyone else have this issue?

I came across the same issue. But it was updated after a couple of days. You should be good.
