You guys who have had your money taken are lucky! At least some stress is over :).

I did not file I944. I think you have no reason to worry. I am not sure if you (and others) are aware or not, there was significant (5 yrs) forward movement in EB2 and EB3 India in the October visa bulletin that came out in September. That is a big deal. There was forward movement in employment based lines for all other countries as well (not as significant as India as the backlog was not as bad as India). So I am sure right at the beginning of October, there was a huge spike in the employment based I485 application submissions. I am not sure if it is the case or not, but that could have affected the timeline of late September filers.

RoC Timeline:

  1. 12/04/2023 - Application sent to USCIS Elgin, IL lockbox
  2. 12/07/2023 - Application received by USCIS
  3. 12/12/2023 - Received "Your case received" text message from USCIS. Receiipt # starts with IOE
  4. 12/13/2023 - Check cashed by USCIS
  5. 12/19/2023 - Received in mail the I797 with the receipt number and the online access code
  6. 12/19/2023 - Received in mail the bio-metric re-use notification
  7. 12/21/2023 - Received in mail the I797 NoA extending my green card by 48 months

Possible. But if that is the case I am sure you will be better off in the long run as a few days delay upfront will probably save you a month or two that we will have to face dealing with the I944 RFE

I did include the I-944 with my application.

I think that after 30 days you can submit an e-mail to the lockbox e-mail address to inquire about your filing, although I am not sure how fast they respond.

01/05/21: Biometrics appointment completed (Brooklyn ASC). Case updated to show fingerprints were taken (I-486 & I-765).

01/05/21: I-131 mailed via UPS.

01/17/21: Received IOE receipt number for I-131 via text.

01/25/21: Received a biometrics reuse notice for I-131.

Copying/Pasting the info on that:

Lockbox

If you have a question about a filing mailed to the Chicago, Dallas, or Phoenix Lockbox you may email us at lockboxsupport@uscis.dhs.gov and we will answer your email as soon as possible. Please include the form number, receipt number, petitioner and/or applicant name, and mailing address. Do not include Social Security numbers in emails.

Examples of Lockbox questions include:

  • The reason your submission was rejected;
  • How or where to submit an application or petition that should be filed at one of the three Lockbox locations; and
  • Filing more than 30 days ago and not yet receiving a receipt notice.

But honestly, I think we just need to be patient - a few more days and I'm sure we'll all hear from them.

I sent it with the i944 and LOTS of evidence. i don't think it's so much to do with whether it was included or not, probably just extremely backed up due to a lot of people trying to get their applications in before the possible fee increase.
