Looks like things are moving for everyone here. I'm totally loosing patience already.

Not mine.  I'm going to contact them I think.  PD is September 16 and we haven't heard anything since the I-693 deficiency notice February 19th.

So I still haven’t gotten my biometrics appointment and I have a question about contacting congresspeople. I’ve seen some people having success in my state contacting a senator. I’m wondering if anyone knows if I need a reason other than the fact that it’s taking so long. If I claim financial loss, I’m nervous that’s bad for my application since my husband is my sole sponsor and we basically said we could survive on his income. Does anyone know anything about this?

As far as I know, the reasons that you can expedite for is extreme financial loss to either you or the company that you’re working for. Don’t know if it will affect your overall application though. I personally wouldn’t do it with this reason unless I absolutely needed to.

but I think you can raise a service request/contact a congressperson/senator once your application is outside processing time without another reason. This is just my understanding based on putting the pieces together of what I’ve heard. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

That makes sense. I am outside processing times for the advance parole which we put in a request about two weeks ago for. Maybe I’ll just use that. Just trying to push them on the biometrics really...

you see a lot of people requesting an expedite under server financial loss solely off a job offer, I tried it and today I got denied. So I guess it’s just down to luck of the officer you get

It's great how they just received mine 6 days ago, and I could have just not if I waited the full extent on when I had to send the RFE back (mid April ish).

I'm glad it's stopped again, that form is lame.

So I’m in a pickle. I got my work permit two weeks ago tomorrow, and I don’t have my SSN. It’s months before I can get an appointment with the local SSA, and I was contacted for a job interview, scheduled for tomorrow. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Did you request a SSN when you submitted your application?

Go for the interview. Interviewing doesn’t mean you will get the job but you can also negotiate your start date after you get the offer.

Great.  So when I sent in my I-485 in October and they sent the whole package back to me for the I-944 so I could send it in again in December and now they aren't going to look at it?  Just as well, I think I filled it out wrong anyway.

I am just happy other people won't have to waste time and money producing so many documents for the i944 and also having less to worry about the process (is my credit score good enough? I don't have any savings/I have debt is that bad?)

I requested it, yes, and when I called the SSA, it didn’t sound like they had received the request at all. They’re barely booking any appointments and the ones they are are from November. So I have to call back every 30 days to make sure my name is on the waiting list.

Awesome! I’m a little annoyed we had to spend $500 for our lawyer to review & send the RFE though lol. Same as Zaraliaya if we had just waited longer within the RFE timeframe we could’ve avoided that. But oh well, it is what it is, I guess!

9/25/2020 - Application sent to USCIS Chicago lockbox
9/29/2020 - Package delivered

10/21/2020 - Received 4 texts
10/29/2020 - Received 4 NOA's in mail, priority date 9/29/2020

1/29/2021 - Online status changed to RFE (I-944 now irrelevant)

2/2/2021 - Biometrics letter received, appointment 2/17/2021
2/17/2021 - Biometrics & RFE received

3/2/2021 - Case ready to be scheduled for interview

5/27/2021 - Request I-765 expedite via Emma
6/1/2021 - Expedite request received

6/4/2021 - EAD card is being produced

6/8/2021 - Interview has been scheduled!

7/22/2021 - Interview - around 9:50pm that night, new card is being produced!
7/23/2021 - Case is approved. 🥳

So I haven't seen any movement on either my I-130 for my wife or my wife's I-485.  Now, however, when I log into either there is nothing there except for the listing of the case with received date and receipt number.  There used to be a tab for documents with some documents listed and other things including some things I uploaded myself.  Does everyone have similar?  Perhaps the database is having a moment?  Or perhaps this is a good sign?  That something is happening?  idk.
