Hi, just updating my status for any of you who are waiting for your interview date. Our case was DQed at the NVC on June 15 of this year and we just received an interview appointment letter just yesterday. So don't give up hope, the process is moving along.

edit: we are an IR-1 visa applicant

Congratulations and good luck with the interview.  My wife is DQed on July 27, so hopefully she isn't too far off.

I just got the interview appt letter today.  Interview scheduled for 2/10, hopefully that means the embassy will be open for the interview? Or is it an automated email that will need to reschedule the appointment... not sure.

Congrats, my wife was dqed October 6th i hope things keep moving at this pace. The embassy briefly closed all services due to covid concerns on the 21rst then reopened the 28th of December.

Has anyone learned anything further on whether the Bangkok embassy is requesting new petitions from the NVC for K1s?  By now, they should be past their canceled interview backlog.

Of course not. They closed down yet again, for a flu like virus (I've had it, that's what it is for most). So frustrating.

For IR-1/CR-1 interviews, I have been tracking the interviews that have been reported on one of the facebook groups. They are making quite a bit of progress. There's one person with DQ on 9/1/2020 that got an interview on 2/27/2021. The wait time from DQ to interview date has been dropping. If the the trend continues, your DQ on 10/6 is projected to have an interview on 3/5/2021 (150 days of wait time). Our DQ is on 10/7, so there's light at the end of the tunnel!

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Just received notification from nvc that my petition has been forwarded to Bangkok. My petition sat at NVC since March. Will keep you all updated.

I also just got an email from the NVC saying my case has been forwarded to Bangkok. My NOA2 date was 5/15, quite a bit after yours, so it looks like the embassy decided to request a good portion of the K1 backlog all at once. Hope they start processing them quickly!

Our case changed to in transit as well yesterday!

I heard that all cases that have been approved (NOA2) last year were shipped...so embassy is about to have a huge caseload if that's true.

If that's true, I hope they have an intelligent way of processing more than a years worth of visas.
