My fiancé takes an English class three days a week with a girl who lives in Bogota, she told us last week that the word on the street in Bogota is the Embassy will start processing things November/December.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Hopefully the word on the street is correct.

Just received this reply from the embassy in Bogota, hopefully there will be something soon.

This is very helpful. Obviously the content of the letter isn’t helpful or great, since we just have to wait. However, it’s helpful to get something specific from an embassy rather than the generic message from March about suspending services. I appreciate you posting!

No problem, just contribute what information I have.

Is this girl who lives in Bogota an embassy employee?  The embassy may very well open in November/December, but a random girl who has nothing to do with the embassy isn't much of a source that would have any clue what is actually happening at the embassy.

Would you happen to have the name of the paper, or better yet a link to an article?

I do not have a link, but I will ask, This was a few months back.

Any updates or news on this?

Not really.

While this really isn't a change at all to their previously stated position, it is the first time (to my knowledge) they have specifically said anything  about K visas.

Our case has been sitting at the embassy since February.

It’s progress in the right direction. Hopefully soon full resumption of services. Thanks for the info.

Nothing new, the embassy in Bogota has had two or three live Facebook broadcasts and each time they mentioned the K-1 Visa in a Q&A session and said they would only process a K-1 in a life or death situation. So we decided to end our K-1 and got married yesterday and I will file for a AOS today!!

Congratulations on your marriage! Your journey has been more challenging than most because of the difficult situation in Venezuela. I hope the AOS process goes well for you guys.
