I haven't even heard about the I-944 until you just said it! It's not on the step-by-step list created in Visa Journey!

You don't need to worry about it at the moment https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/public-charge/injunction-of-the-inadmissibility-on-public-charge-grounds-final-rule

Oh my gosh! Thank you for this advice! The process can be so overly confusing!

Sorry meant not worth it for the $500 based on the timelines I saw on their site of 5-8 months to get the provisional work permit, if optimistically they would approve the Green Card in the 9-12 months since she is already in the US and doing an AOS. Since I make enough and we wouldn't be hurting for money just figured we would wait it out and save the $500. But since I probably messed up (see my other post) and it will be coming back it might be worth it if I can get it resubmitted before October since it's no fee.

Live and learn for not coming to this community first before filling everything out.

I think it's still worth it unless your local office is really fast. Working for a few weeks will pay for the EAD with the new fee, so it's still a worthwhile investment.

That was when the I944 was added and they said everybody who postmarked and sent it before that date was fine. Couple people got rejected for filing to late even though it was stamped before. I don't remember anybody who reported that they fought it and won. I think they all sent the application again with the new form.

Just a silly question, do I need to complete the forms in all capitals? I'm looking through and I've typed in the standard way (capitals where needed and lower case elsewhere).

I did the same as you for every application/ petition so far and never had any problems with that

Thank you! And also, if my spouse arrived on an ESTA, they don't have an i-94 number, right? Should I leave that part blank?

They absolutely do have one. You can find it here and print it for free

Ahh yeah, I just had another look at what they have said. Apparently they are accepting anything postmarked on or before October 1st, so it would have to be an official from mail carrier.

Was the February issue because the forms had changed?

Rule of thumb its better to NOT wait last minute for immigration related issues/forms.. or in life in general..
