Hi everyone!!

I am in the last stage of this long journey :crying:.

My husband and I started the process last year on May 01. Our case was completed at the NVC this year on May 01. Exactly one year after we filed the visa petition. Unfortunately the case has not been forwarded to the consulate yet ( 7 weeks have passed since May 01). The costumer service people at the NVC have told me that they (NVC) schedule the interview directly. The funny thing is that I called the consulate in Guayaquil, Ecuador to get information about this new way of scheduling appointments and they did not know anything about it. They told me that they do not know anything and they are the ones who schedule the appointment. Obviously, there is a communication problem between the consulate and NVC or the customer service people suck. I have checked the lists that the consulate posts every week showing the cases visa Cr1 that they have sent the packet 4. I realized that most of those cases numbers start with 2007...., my husband's case starts with 2006, so it is evident that the consulate is doing a good job scheduling appointments, and the NVC is just delaying everything, .

Now I feel frustrated because I am in the middle of an unknown process and I can not do anything (that is what the NVC and consulate expect me to beleive). I would like to know if someone here has experienced the same situation or if someone knows how to expedite the process. I want to tell somebody (real person) at NVC that this kind of situations are extreme and the system needs to be changed. We are not getting a free service; we pay the fees, open our accounts and lifes to the government hoping to get a rapid response to our requests. I think that something must be done, a letter, a march something.

:help:

Any comments and advise are welcome.

Sari

the nvc has recently changed the way the cases are processed and will give you an interview date depending on the availablity at the embassy. dates are given by the 2nd-3rd week of each month for the following month. our case was just sent to the emabssy on the 21st but they gave me the interview date on the 18th for next month so the nvc is giving out the dates. keep in mind that some embassies are better staffed or more efficient so they are able to process interviews faster. find out from others who have already gone through guayaquil how long it took to get the interview date after their case was completed.

go here and email some people to see how long things have taken with their case, good luck

Hi JK

Yes, things have changed at the NVC and now they schedule the appointments. Unfortunately, a few people have experienced this new way of processing, so it is hard to find some help around. Anyway, I realized that the only solution is to wait until they schedule the interview (I would like to expedite the process but it seems impossible). I hope they'll do it next month, second week, if not...well, let's see. By the way, I called the embassy in Guayaquil and they did not even know that there is a new way of processing cases. That's what they told me. They told me that they are the ones sending the packet 4. It is a total contradiction because everytime I call the NVC they explain to me that they are the ones scheduling appointments and sending the medical info.

yep, i just got my packet 4 from the nvc and a copy was sent to the emabssy in bogota a day later so you do have to deal with the nvc. remember that the automated message says that if 8 weeks have passed after the completion of your case and you haven't received anything to contact them. good luck

Hi,

You are really lucky, congratulations!!!. Probably, your embassy is more efficient than mine or they are not very busy. You see, this case was completed on may 1st and we are still waiting. Anyway, good luck with the interview!! B)
