After the election and after the travel restrictions pass next year hopefully she will be able to get approved without an Islamphobic president in office.

I still think it is worth the $160 to try for it, but also just wanted to say:  PLEASE VOTE! 🇺🇸

My husband is in the US and has conditions about to be removed ($680) and another $700 for his citizenship paperwork next...and yet we can't seem to hire enough people to work in USCIS to keep up with the visa requests, etc. The fees increase but the speed and effectiveness remains the same.

Fees paid to USCIS don't go to DOS.

Sorry I confused anyone who haven't been through the visa process or who get confused easily.

Many in this forum have gone through NIV (tourist, etc.) applications. My retired father has applied a couple of times for US tourist visa while being from and living in a third world country. Initially, he received denials. But eventually he was approved for tourist visa with 10 year validity.

Have a great day everyone don't take offense or anything, just an annoyed USAF veteran annoyed at how the US doesn't take care of its own or accept anyone in that doesn't bring the US extra dollars or oil.

...

I have been through numerous visa processes. 4 US tourist visas, a couple of UK ones (hence my statement about the difference in the forms) as well as a UK study visa, a few schengen visas, a russian visa (that was fun) and finally a US immigrant visa. I’ve even been to Jordan. And honestly, all you’ve done is assume your MIL will be refused a US tourist visa without even trying.  Plus, I do not get “confused easily”, so yes, you have insulted the people who are trying to reasonably help you.  (The cost of RoC and N400 has zero to do with this process albeit it seems to add to your anger at us.)

All that said, thank you for your service, as a fairly new citizen I have a high appreciation for our vets.
