Hey all,

My wife has her interview coming up and we got confused with the medical part. One of the points on the invitation is:

A completed medical examination (Form I-693) and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted).

She had her medical done in Moscow and the doctor gave us the DS-3025 form. When applying for AOS we only sent a copy of the DS-3025 and also some more documents from her small medical exam at the university where she attended some English courses. The medical at the uni really only tested her for TB.

So, we never went to see a civil surgeon to copy the DS-3025 form. Do we need to do anything now, before the interview?

Also, her medical in Moscow was on July 14th and her interview is on July 24th. So it will be more than a year! I read somewhere that we only need to apply for AOS withing that year and not have the whole process finished. Is that true? The description on form I-485 (AOS) seems to agree, but it's a little vague.

Thank you! :help:

They have been fussy about the one year trip lately as some people have been asked to get a complete I-694 instead of the Supplemental when their year isn't even up yet.

You should get a RFE but sometimes they miss and just give you an appointment date. May not even get that if your case is transfered to CSC.

If I were you I'd wait and see what happens. If you do get a appointment date I'd get the DSC to do a full medical and give you the I-694 in the sealed envelope and take it to the interview.

If she had her medical within the year prior to your applying for the AOS - which she obviously did - she does not require another medical unless specifically asked to do so.

Did she have all of her vaccinations completed by the time of her medical in Russia? or are there vaccinations that she still required? If she had all of her vaccinations completed and it was noted on the vaccination worksheet that you submitted they may just accept that and not require the vaccination supplement completed by the Civil Surgeon. I just submitted the worksheet and my AOS was approved without the supplement. If, however, she still requires vaccinations she would need to get the vaccinations done, then have that information along with the information on the worksheet transferred to the Vaccination supplement form. You can get that done now and bring the completed Vaccination Supplement form with you to the interview.

If you don't have the vaccination supplement form and require one, they will advise you of that at the interview and will not approve the AOS until you return the completed supplement form to them. You know best the state of your wife's vaccination history, so you can decide if you need to get the supplement done and bring it with you, or hope that they will accept the completed worksheet. The Civil Surgeon's office will have the necessary form - you just need to make the appointment to have the supplement completed. Unless specifically told otherwise, you do NOT need to redo the complete medical, although often the Civil Surgeons will try to tell you tat you do. Phone around until you find one who will provide just the supplement.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
